So I've been working with a professional audiobook production company and the audio version of my novel EVASION is soon to be available through all the major audio retailers. It is narrated quite brilliantly by Brian Troxell

And I'm also going to be releasing the audio for free via a serialized podcast.

The first test episode for the podcast appears here if anyone is interested in listening to it and hearing Brian's amazingly powerful narrative voice.

@Mark_Leslie - That's awesome. I have my novel being turned into audio right now on Audible with royalty share. I don't have the time to read as much as I use to and so I consume a lot of audio books. I may have to check that out when it's released.

First book I stumbled upon - ideath-. It caused me to question my views and my identity, inspired me to open a certain kind of blog (not the journal type in the book please), all the while introducing me to literature in a way I havnt before and I am not even done with the book yet. I like to write horror (I only have written, unshared drafts) and this was just wonderful in its own right. Then I checked the name of Author and realized Mark Leslie isn't just in the book but actually the writer. I can't wait to read more.

@Greylon yes, plus I am getting to know some great authors I intend checking out later. Thumbs up once again.

@Greylon - Thanks so much for the note. Glad you enjoyed it and that it helped re-inspire some of your own writing. That's great to hear. I read your brilliantly dark short "A Christmas To Die For" and quite liked it - nicely done!

Yeah, I added a number of real writers that I personally know as a fun "hat tip" to them and then couldn't resist the tongue-in-cheek references to myself while having fun with it. It was cute when the story was on the blog, but when it came time to create the book version, my editor and I debated for a while whether or not to cut the Mark Leslie references. We thought it was an interesting odd self-reflective piece, so ended up keeping it in, just for that strange multi-dimensional layer . . . .

Thank you for the follow... I love your work. It's an honor to have been followed and voted on by an author such as yourself.

@Serendipitousbeauty - Thank you. Very kind of you to say. Your poetry has a raw honesty. I particularly liked the last line of Veil of Darkness. I sincerely hope that you keep writing.

@SharylFriend - Thank you. (Can't believe I didn't notice this comment before) - Thank you so much. Glad you are enjoying the stories. And yes, there are plenty of free tales of mine here as well as on Smashwords and other ebook sites. :)

Hey Mark. I've listened to you now on three different Indie Publishing Podcasts and have to say you seem like such a great person and supporter of the indie market. I have two free short stories available on Kobo with an excerpt of my novel at the end. Sadly, it isn't on Kobo yet, I tried the exclusive on my first book with KDP, but I don't see it helping me that much. I'm excited to get it out everywhere else in late February. I've had the novel on here for a long time, well before I knew about self publishing and it was one of the first three books featured here on Wattpad. It did well for an adult epic fantasy with 2.5 million reads, but now I'm trying to bring everything into Indie publishing. I just really want to thank you for everything you've been doing for the Indie authors out there. I look forward to reading the novella you have on here. Best wishes, Craig.

@Mark_Leslie - My novel has officially ran out of its term and is up on Kobo now. I'm excited. =)

@CraigAPrice - Yes that is me. I also have another in your market, Diamonds Under a Hickory Tree, but that is through Draft2Digital.

I did want to put my novel up everywhere for pre-order to come out after my exclusive... but I researched and found it wasn't a good idea because if glitches happen I'll breach the contract. I guess I could put it up and do everything but publish. (keep as draft) I may look into that.

The 2.5 million reads was very uplifting for me. As were the 17,000 votes and over 1000 comments on it. This is of my novel, The Crimson Claymore. Especially since I've wanted to be an author since the first grade. I had excellent positive feedback and told me if I only knew grammar I would have a great publishable book. (hence the editor I have now.)

Speaking of that, I did have a question for you now that I've looked at your book on Amazon. I see it is priced at $4.99 and is free on here. I "unpublished" a lot of my chapters on The Crimson Claymore because I was worried about it being free to read here. Since this is not a retailer, am I false on this? A lot of my reviews and votes are hidden because of the chapters I've unpublished. I would really like to keep it here for the large fan base I've accumulated here for my series.

I have unchecked the auto renew on Amazon and I believe February 17th will be its last exclusive day.

Thanks for your prompt response, and I'm continuing to learn more about Indie Publishing. I'm still a bit behind on TCP, SPP, and RSP but they're lovely to listen to and absorb while at work.

            Sincerely,
            Craig

This isn't related to my writing, but it might be of interest for WATTPAD folks. Ashleigh G, from Wattpad, was recently interviewed on the Kobo Writing Life podcast. Of course, you all already know how cool Wattpad is, but it's still a fun and interesting conversation between Ashleigh and Christine from the Kobo Writing Life team. (And, yes, I'm a little biased, but I think both of them are awesome)

Thanks, @Mark_Leslie, for the heads up. Cool connections. Thanks again for all you've done to help all of us writers (Including yourself! ;-). This writer especially. Had a big month in November through Kobo and then quite a jump in December, too. Looking forward to hanging out non-virtually again sometime in the future when the world traveler makes it back to my part of the world. Or I make it to his!
            Sincerely,
            Rob
