The City of London

I wrote this after seeing Silent Witness, two episodes shot in the oligarchs and bankers city. The one the other 98% cannot afford to buy.

Towers and shards
Stainless steel and glass
Shiny and hard
Not one bit marred
By a speckle of dirt
Or babies cry heard
Oceans of quiet
On hard rectangle floors
Deals of money
Behind secret doors
Security for super rich
Insecurity for serving poor
They travel by tube
To the homes that they clean
They in these homes
Have their great cars
In basement store
Warm and ready to go
To the next deal
To the next tower
To the next box
Of steel and glass
Where new schemes are laid
To make more quiet floors
Of exclusion
Of ordinary souls
