Chapter 4 {Trying Something New}

I woke up extremely happy and I don't know why. For some reason I felt like I should dress nicer than I usually do. I put on a striped tank top and a black skater skirt with a black cardigan and some black flats with a tiny bow on the side of each shoe. I spiral curled my hair and put on a white headband with a flower on it. I put on a necklace with a heart on it and matching earrings. I looked at myself in the mirror and thought I looked good.

I grabbed a bag of dry fruit loops and walked down to Roxanne's house

Oooo someone is dressed up today
Stooop you act like you've never seen me in a skirt before

No reason... I just wanted to dress nice today because-

You never know 5th graders are very deceiving these days
Whatever Gabs so why is such a big deal that you have to dress like this for Dominic? I mean you never did anything like this for Nathan
I don't know.. I heard a bunch of girls yesterday talking about how cute he is and I guess I felt like I had to compete with them
You were the first person he talked to yesterday and he hung out with you for almost the whole day, I'm pretty sure if he had to choose he'd choose you.

Totally, now give me some of those fruit loops

We munched on the fruit loops the rest of the way to the bus stop.When we got there Dominic was sitting in our spot.

I couldn't find anything else to talk about so I just stayed silent for most of the ride to school

We arrived at school and there were posters all over the walls. I was walking with Dominic and he had stopped to read one of the posters
