Knock Knock Knock
The four of us liars smiled at each other because we knew what was about to happen. I ran to answer the door.
"Are all of you in there?" Aunt Carrie asked me
"Yes.." I said pretending to be confused. "Why does it smell like smoke? What are all those sirens?" I asked playing dumb
"Clairmont caught on fire" I pretended to scream. We had rehearsed this. My Gat, Mirren, and Johnny came running. I started to fake cry.
"C-C-Clairmont c-caught on fire" I stuttered out through my fake sobs. Gat hugged me and Johnney asked if he and Mirren could see the house. Gat and I trailed behind them holding hands. We walked up the hill and saw Granddad staring at the buring flames from behind a tree. The littles we all huddling next to him. All the aunties we hugging and crying as the firefighters desperately tried to put out the flames. The four of us liars sat on the ground together admiring what we had created. I couldn't help but listen to the aunties conversation.
"We were so stupid to be arguing over Mummies things. I love you and all of the nieces and nephews. Just to think, what if we had been home or the kids had been in the house? I could have lost all of you." Aunt Bess said. "Well where's Dad going to stay for the rest of the summer?" Aunt Carrie asked. "Well what if we all stayed at Windemere tonight. I think none of us are going to be able to sleep. And we could put the little ones in one room, the big ones in Cadence's room, Bess could stay with me, Ed and Carrie in one room and Dad in the last. I don't want to be in that big house alone tonight." Mummy said. This was perfect. It was what I, what we had wanted. "Well I don't know about you" Aunt Bess said "But the smell of smoke is always going to make me sick now" Mummy and Aunt Carrie just nodded
