Angel in my life

(Takeda POV)

As Ukai-kun gave me my tea, he looked at me with the same bright smile he always had around me. He confused me, how could it be..

I must be looking at an angel.

"You should rest now Take-chan, I'll be going now if you dont need anything more." He spoke in a soft manner, as if I were a child.

"Wait- dont go Ukai-kun..could you stay..?"

The reason i wanted him to stay was mainly cause i was scared, or rather terrified. Everytime i get sick, i get terrible anxiety whenever I'm alone. The reason for that is, when I was just a child, I suffered a great loss.

I found my mom in her bed, lifeless. She had passed away cause of a terrible cold. So now whenever I get sick myself, I get reminded. It's a memory that'll haunt me for the rest of my life.

But..I couldn't help but feel something else as well as separation anxiety. This person has had a big role in my life lately, I've never been happier.

Ukai-kun looked at me for a moment, "Sure Take-chan, I dont mind since i have the day off tomorrow anyway."

Tears began filling my eyes, "Thank you." I whispered under my breath.

I don't know when I dozed off, but I woke up to the light from outside. The sky was a bright orange, it filled the room.

Then suddenly something caught my eye. Beside me was Ukai-kun, sleeping soundly with his head leaning against the bed.

He really didn't go home last night? Well..he must've been exhausted as well. But still, I am very grateful for his company. I smiled as I brushed my hand through his hair.

[Flashback to last night, Ukai's point of view.]

I saw Take-chan's eyes slowly close, and I could feel him relaxing. I rested my head on the bed as I watched over him.

He looked so peaceful. He was even more beautiful now..I really admire his hardworking self. Giving your best at all times must be exhausting. We all  need some rest.

Even so.. I couldn't have helped myself falling for you. I knew you were special the first time I saw you. Love at first sight? Faith? Or maybe, just destiny.

I'll protect you with my life, if that's what it takes Take-chan..

I didn't notice how tired I was, but eventually I fell asleep as well, completely exhausted.

[Back to next morning]

(Takeda POV)

My hand flowing through his soft golden hair, I could feel my face heating up. It's as time has stopped, and all that's in movement is our heartbeats. Sleeping must be the only time you're getting proper rest from the world around us.
