We came back to sway about a week ago I've been avoiding Griffin, (besides if he needs me to do anything). The girls have been pestering and pestering me to tell them why him calling me that name was such a big deal. I haven't told them yet, but I think im ready.. here goes nothing!
I walked to the room where all the girls and guys were sitting, I made eye contact with Griffin but quickly broke it within a few seconds, I sat next to Nessa and whispered in her ear,
y/n - "girl meeting, its THE story"
Nessa looked up with wide eyes but also looked a little excited, she winked at me and said the code sentence,
N - "Ok guys i'm starting to get TIRED and MY DAD JUST TRIED TO CALL ME, so i got to go" she kissed josh goodnight and looked at all the girls
They looked at her with confused faces but slowly realized what she was trying to do and then followed us upstairs
We get there and they are all looking at me,
y/n - "whatt?!" i giggle knowing why they are looking at me
M - "ok so are you gonna tell us about why griffin called u that name, a very cute one btw"
TG - "yea!" all the girls agreed
y/n - "okay so basically-"
~~~ flashback (italics) ~~~
It was my junior year of high-school and I was waiting for my friend to pick me up. I sat on the steps until they pulled up. I got in,
y/n - "Hey Griffin, I missed you!"
G - "missed you to y/n!" he kissed me on the cheek
Me and Griffin have known each other sense we were 10. We met when he stood up for me when i was being bullied by one of his friends, which got him a lot of bullying too. But he was okay with it we slowly started talking more and more as elementary school goes on.
Once middle school rolled around the dating rumors came around. It was always "y/n and Griffin this" and "y/n and Griffin that" but we didn't let that effect us, we actually thought it was kind of funny. Once this app "Musically" (now tiktok) became popular, me and Griffin decided to download it together. (as it was both of our very first social media accounts EVER.
y/n - "ready?" I asked
G - "ready as i will ever be" Griffin gave me a worried look
y/n - "okay from 3" i said
"3...
2...
1!"
We both pressed create account.
We both started off with 20 followers each (as we had the same friends) but then he started gaining more and more followers on the platform.
When it changed to TikTok, and there were no more "2x videos" and there were dances and "hot guys" Griffins career sky rocketed.
But i stayed with him, not for the followers, not for the money, because he was my best friend, and i wanted to stick with him. We never wanted to have social media in the way of our friendship, so whenever he would talk about me on social media, he would call me "bubs" or "bubbles" and it stuck. We would never show my face because he knew how much i hated social media and never posted and he respected that.
When he started to get bigger he signed with "talentX" and he was offered to move into sway. He took the opportunity and it was hard for me but i had to be strong, not only for me, but for my best friend.
We stayed in contact a lot but not enough to fuel what we had before, so we just stayed acquaintances, promised to forever respect each other.

y/n - "soo.. yea" i said shrugging and scratching my arm
AM - "that was so cute!!" amalie said clapping her hands
A - "wait so how did you become their assistant" Avani asked raising and eyebrow
y/n - "how do you think Bryce found my instagram?" I said returning the eyebrow raise
