<Sam POV>
As soon as Liam left, my bottom lip began to tremble. Why would he snap at me like that? Do I irritate him that much? Why would he mark me if he knew how hard it would be for him? I kept asking myself questions, letting the tears fall silently down my cheeks. I can hear Liam down stairs, mumbling and puttering around. Slowly, I let myself get my cries and whimpers out, not trying to be loud. I don't want to anger Alpha Liam anymore than he already is. My hands cover my eyes, trying but failing to keep in the tears that constantly flow. I must be so useless if I already made him mad...
<Liam POV>
I pace around the kitchen, unable to stop my movement. I need to do something, I need to punch something to be more specific, but I have nothing to punch. At all. No way...don't think like that! I will not punch Sam. I can't be like my father, I won't abuse my mate. I turn sharply, making myself go up the stairs towards our room. My steps fall short as I hear sniffles and whimpers. Did I make him cry!? Oh lord, I made my mate cry! I slam the door open, eyes wide with worry. Sam screams and backs up quickly against the headboard. "Don't cry! I am so sorry! Please baby! It won't happen again!" I cry out, hands shaking in fear. Sam stares, eyes wide with tears. "Darling...are you..are you scared of me?" I look at him. "No..I just..I got upset..and..I thought I was being a bad mate, thought you were going to leave me" Sam sniffles out, holding onto my pillow.
