I took a few more steps forward before the fight came in sight. The first thing I saw was one of my men lying still on the ground. Chances were, he was dead. I took a deep breath and looked at the rest.

We were definitely outnumbered. There were seven of us and twelve of them. That was after our men had killed three of theirs already.

I stepped into the middle of the fight, my claws out and ready. I could hear the gun fire, smell the blood, hear the racing hearts as people battled for their lives. I couldn't help but think how ridiculous this all was. If they'd just kept to themselves, if they wouldn't have tried taking someone from my pack, this all could have been avoided.

I felt someone bump into my shoulder as he'd been pushed back by one of my other men. I wrapped an arm around the man's upper body, trapping his arms. I then reached around with the others and dragged my hand across his throat. His skin gave way under the claws, the blood dripping and I heard a gurgled gasp before he fell limply to the ground.

I turned to face the rest of them and I saw a small girl near the back.

"Mr. Freemont, we need to get you out of here. We need you and your findings safe."

"Yes, yes, Cinthia." The man turned eagerly to go after her.

His findings? He was in charge of this place. He was the reason Allison had been here.

He wasn't going anywhere. Not if I had anything to say about it.

I ran toward him, catching him just before he slipped through the doorway. I grabbed the back of his white lab coat in one hand and pulled him back, slamming him face against the wall.

I heard a groan from the man.

"What do you do here?" I asked him.

He didn't say anything, just stood there breathing heavily.

I pulled him back and slammed him back into the wall. "I asked what you do here."

"I'm a doctor!" He shouted.

"That's not what you do. What did you do to Allison?"

"Who are you talking about?"

"That werewolf," I snarled. "What did you do to her?"

"I didn't do anything!"

"Don't try to lie to me. I'm an Alpha, I can tell when you're lying." My voice was low, barely a whisper in his ear. I could feel the spike of fear that ran through him.

"I-I ran tests. We wanted to know how- how it works."

"How what works?"

"The-- abilities." I could hear the man's heart pounding quickly. He wasn't used to being this close to a werewolf. At least not one who was in control.

"And why didn't you just ask?" I asked with a growl.

"We-we needed to have the evidence," he whispered.

I wasn't sure what this man had done. All I knew was that he was responsible for keeping Allison here, he had been the one with her, and I still remembered the pain I'd felt from her that first time we had been able to connect.

I just didn't like the feel that I got from anyone in this place, and at the moment he was the one most responisble. He was now done.

"Well I could help you with that. You see, it's a full moon tonight and all it would take is just one little scratch." The last word came out as a whisper as I slipped my claw against his skin.
