Celegwen P.O.V

I woke up with a start. I looked up, and saw the twisty wooden roof, and realised where I was. Mirkwood.

I blinked a couple of times, and felt the silky sheets that were layered on top of me. Pushing myself up on my hands, I sat up, gasping slightly as pain stabbed my stomach. I looked to the people who were sitting to the side of the bed, but before I could recognise them -

*SLAP*

"WHY DID YOU KEEP THAT FROM ME?!" Thranduil yelled furiously, seemingly distraught.

"W-what?" I stammered, clutching my cheek, still dazed and confused on what the hell had just happened. "Why - "

"Thranduil! I think it is best that you leave," a new voice said, ushering him out of the room.

That voice...I'd heard it before. It seemed so familiar so...safe. He turned around, and from Thranduil's cold blue eyes I was greeted by warm brown ones. Long brown hair fell over straight shoulders, and hands that had wielded a sword for thousands of years were casually by his sides. Hundreds of questions began flooding through my mind as to why, exactly, the Lord of Rivendell had come to visit me.

"M-my Lord Elrond," I said, bowing my head slightly, wincing slightly as it strained my neck. I rubbed the bruises on it.

He smiled. "Good morning Celegwen," he said. His voice had a welcoming tone to it, which I warmed up to immediately.

"What brings you here?" I asked, still a little awe-struck.

"Do you not remember 400 years ago, Celegwen, when I told you that if you ever needed me, I would come?" he said, the corner of his lip twitching in a friendly grin.

I nodded, recalling the memory. When I scarred Thranduil....

"I remained true to my word," Lord Elrond said, snapping me from my thoughts.

I looked at the Lord of Imladris. He saved me? I had almost forgotten that promise made centuries ago. But he clearly remembered it.

"Thank you, my lord," I said gratefully. I tried to sit up further, but then remembered the pain that had taken hold of my entire body. "What happened?"

His face went grave for a moment. I almost regretted asking, but then he began to recount what had happened.

"After Thranduil....stabbed you and you went unconscious, he killed Durion," he said. My heart clenched with fear and anger at the mention of Durion's name, but relaxed once I knew he was dead. He was gone now; no more to worry about.

"You were in a very bad state. The amount of blood lost was severe. There were long streaking wounds on your back; I shall not ask what happened until later. There were also several other minor injuries, and a bone on your back was broken, along with the stomach wound."

"Thranduil brought you back here, and Gandalf summoned me. You were very close to death, Celegwen, you must understand that. A few more minutes and you would have been beyond our aid. You are no longer in a critical condition, but you need some time to heal; physically and mentally. I understand you are still traumatised," he said gently.

I slumped against the pillows, letting it all sink in. It was a lot.

"I shall take my leave," Lord Elrond said, bowing his head slightly.

"Thank you, my lord. For everything," I replied, letting my eternal gratitude show through my words. He nodded and exited the room.

I laid back down on the bed. I had barely escaped with my life. If Gandalf hadn't found me, if Lord Elrond hadn't healed me, I would be dead, passed on to the next world.

But I had faults too. If I wasn't so careless, this wouldn't have happened. If I hadn't been so blind, this wouldn't have happened.

If I hadn't scarred Thranduil, this wouldn't happened.

If I hadn't loved Thranduil, this wouldn't have happened.

I know it's yucky and short and uneventful, guys. :P I just thought we needed something a little toned down after the last two chapters :)
