Ian's P.O.V.

I knew that as soon as the words left my mouth that she would think I was crazy. I might as well show her otherwise she will freak out and tell me to go to a looney bin. I stood up and walked a ways away, not wanting to crush her. I was the Beta, so my wolf was big.

I looked her straight in her glowing green eyes and shifted, it taking less then 5 seconds. Her eyes bulged and mouth fell open. Typical response. I made sure she wasn't afraid before shifting back. She stared at me, her face full of astonishment and a little bit of fear. I went and sat next to her. Hannah flinched away.

"Are you okay?" Wow, brilliant question Ian. I mentally slapped myself. How stupid, are you okay? Of course not! She just saw a person shift into a wolf. Hannah got up and started to pace the room.

"Oh my god. I think I am going to pass out." She stopped pacing. I stood up, wanting to be able to catch her if she did. She took a few long breaths before meeting my eyes. "That m-means y-you k-killed M-mike." She stuttered under her breath. I nodded.

"I'm sorry. It’s just that he was hurting you I needed to stop him." I whispered back. I stood my ground, I didn't want to frighten her. She looked back at the wall, huffed out her breath, then whipped around to stare at me, her face hopefully?

"Reed?" she breathed. If I was fully human, I would've never heard her, but you know, super hearing. Wait, who's Reed? "I have to sit down." With that I was over to her, leading her to the bed. She sat and was breathing heavily, I started to rub her back, anyway to comfort her. "Is he," she gulped. "Dead?"

"Who's Reed?" I asked, still rubbing her back. I wouldn't blame her if she passed out. She held up a hand, confused.

“Okay, can you please explain what is going on? Last thing I remember is being on the floor getting beat with a bat." she murmured. I took her hand in mind, thankful she didn't pull it back. I rubbed her hand with my thumb and stared at her little hand in my big one.

"Where do you want me to begin? Beginning?" She nodded. I sighed and told her everything, starting from Sam telling me she was in trouble to hearing her scream (I explained the super hearing and seeing) and smelling the blood. How I found her and Mike, I think that's his name? Then told her about how I found Reed beating her. How he escaped and I was going to chase him, but he ran. She stared wide eyed the whole time, taking it all in.

When I finished, she looked sick. Her soft face white as a ghost, her body shaking. Hannah pulled her hand out of mine and laid back on the bed, breathing hard. I hope she is all right. I don't want anything to happen to her.

“So,” she hesitated. “My step dad is dead?”

Nodding, I said, ”I am so sorry, I would understand if you hate me now. I just can't control myself if someone or something is hurting you." I replied scooting closer to her warm body. Please don't be angry, I thought to myself.

"Thank you." she whispered. I was shocked. She's thanking me? "Thank you so much." Abruptly, she flung herself at me, her thin arms wrapping around my waist. I hugged her back, breathing in her wonderful vanilla coconut scent. I pulled her tighter to me.

"Ian?" she mentioned. "Can't breath." I pulled back, concerned I had hurt her.

"Why are you thanking me?” I asked, still wondering why she would be happy about me killing her step dad. Hannah then stiffened and tears started to run down her face. Immediately I started to hug her and hold her tight, but not too tight. Maybe I will ask later when she doesn't have so much going on and time to think about.

I rubbed her back and pulled her to my lap still keeping my arms around her. She rested her head on my chest, still crying. I didn't mind though. It was nice to have her close to me, the feeling made my skin warm and my heart swell.

"Ian, please don't make me go back." Hannah whispered softly. Looking down, I smiled as I noticed she had falling asleep in my arms. I wished she hadn't of fallen asleep, I didn't want her to now wake up for weeks again, that was hard enough. I still had a lot to tell her and a lot to find out. Why is she happy I killed her step dad? Why were they hurting her anyway, they were her family?

With millions of questions in my head, I laid down, making sure to not disturbed Hannah to much as I pulled her next to me. I rested her head on my pillow next to me with me laying next to her, arm around her shoulders.

I laid there for half an hour before she moved and cuddled up to my chest. I grinned widely before resting my cheek on the top of her head, falling asleep as well. Both of us laying in each others arms.
