I've known women.
The ones with red stained finger tips
And steel-tipped toes.
The ones who dance alone to songs
About battlefields and soldiers with sunken eyes.
I've known women who chewed hearts for a living, veins stuck between a milky white grin.
The ones with a laugh you can feel in your chest.
Like a timpani beaten bloody.
I've women like Giants,
Towering above me like redwoods.
I've known women who whispered pretty things in men's ears and had them fall to their knees.
I've known women with thin wrists and cutting eyes who could make them all beg for it.
I've known women with bare arms exposed
Waiting for the next unfortunate creature to swallow whole.
