Zoe's P.O.V

I can't believe I'm actually doing this.

Standing sweaty and out of breathe at midnight in the woods alone without her parents knowing was definitely out of the norm for Zoe. At that point in time she wished she never wished to not be normal.

She was running for the past fifteen minutes and not being the athletic type, had stopped about thirty times to catch her breathe. She was thankful she didn't encounter any werewolves yet and actually hoped she didn't.

She was about to give up and go home when she heard the rustling of the bushes around. She stood perfectly still fear trapping the oxygen in her lungs. She scanned her surroundings but all she could see were the dark silhouettes of the trees that were oddly shaped and the full moon.

The moon's light was dim but bright enough to reveal four ordinary wolves in the distant. For every step they took she took five backwards until she was agains one of the trees. They were just inches away from her when an ear piercing howl rang out.

It was loud enough to scare off the wolves and shake the trees. There was one reason for this, one Zoe hated herself for even thinking about. "Great an alpha," she thought as panic swallowed her previous fear.

Her grandfather told her about alphas. They were the leaders in the packs. They were bigger, faster and stronger. Werewolves had heightened sense and alpha's were even better.

The howl was followed by another that was even louder. This time the earth beneath her trembled. Panic regurgitated fear and it was once again the dominant emotion swarming through Zoe.

"Two alphas, even better," she thought gripping the tree behind her. She was sure she had chunks of bark beneath her fingernails as two huge wolves approached her. As she looked at them panic about to take control of her legs, she recognize a pair of green eyes and brown eyes.
