I'm Not Dead Yet...

Chapter 26

The leaves still shivered where felicity had fallen, I crouched on the branch, she can't have died from this height could she? Then again there were zombies down there, I'm reluctant too go down there, I don't want to see her being ripped to pieces, I'm so selfish, go down there you wimp! I yelled at my self in my mind, if I get down there quick enough I'll be able to save her, thank god my hesitation was only a few seconds and I began to descend as quickly as I could.
Quick Authors note: I know heaps of you were probably like "get down there you stupid *explicit word*!" Yeah well, I'm sorry okay? I do the same thing while reading. Anyways back to the story:
I saw pale blonde hair and quickened the pace, she was down there alright, in what state I don't know.
"Reena!" She screamed,
"I'm coming!" I yelled back, finally my feet hit the ground and I looked around, most of the zombies must of wandered off, there were about three decapitated bodies laying on the round but felicity was cornered, a wall of tall, thick, thorn-filled bushes covered her only of escape from the two zombies approaching her. I was close enough to throw a knife so I aimed my at one of them, god I hope I don't miss, and threw, hitting it in the back of the neck, with a spray of dirty red blood it fell to the ground in silence, I ran at the other one because I'd probably hit felicity with the other one but it was too close to felicity by the time I got there, it bit down on her neck, she screamed, it was the most horrible sound I've ever heard, I covered my ears for a moment, even the zombie who couldn't hear well tuned in on it, so I stabbed it before it could feed. I had near no doubt others had heard her scream and we needed to get out of here, fast. I steeped bopper the body of the zombie so I was in front of Felicity's hunched shape, she looked up at me with blood trickling out of her mouth,
"Please kill me," she choked out, before convulsing in the first stages of the infection, I had to, tears stung my eyes,
"Ill miss you." I said she nodded as I grabbed my sword and stabbed it straight through her, one e I pulled it out her body twitched and fell still, I pulled my knife out the zombie and ran blindly. I didn't get far before my lungs started to burn with lack of oxygen so I had to stop. I knew I was being pursued by zombies, so I began to walk forward. Something slithered through the leaf litter a few metres ahead, I followed the long brown scaly body to the head of a snake, a brown snake god damn it, of all things to happen after that, I'm gonna die, but quite frankly I'd prefer to dance with a brown snake then be torn to pieces by a horde of zoms, I have no idea how many there are and I know there's only one snake in front of me. I take a weary step forwards, and the snake puts it's head up, it's tongue flickers, tasting the air, it can smell my fear, I'm not afraid of snakes, but considering I am going to be torn to pieces if I don't go forwards soon is pretty worrying. I take another slow step and it moves towards me, now only about a metre away, I take another step, it raises it's head in warning, making spitting noises, I take a slow-motion step but loose my balance, I fall on my knees and it strikes, closing it's jaw on my shoulder, I scream, falling onto my side. The pain is like nothing I've ever felt before, I get up off the ground, and stumble towards the fence, they must have patrols to check for holes in the fence, if not, they should.

I'm really sorry that's such a short chapter, sorry felicity didn't die the way some might have hoped. But it fit better with the story this way. Right, well, goodbye,
