“Babe?” I heard Chase’s voice as the door opened, and then closed, followed by his footsteps

“In here!” I called out from the bedroom, I heard more footsteps and then I saw him enter the room, he smiled softly at me before sitting down in the bed with me, laying down by my side

“Are you feeling better?” he asked and I nodded with a sigh

“Yep.” I said, he looked at me and shook his head

“Cut the crap.” he said “What happened?” I groaned into my pillow, I felt his hand stroke my arm as he rubbed it, in a comforting manner

“You’re going to think it’s stupid.” I said, he chuckled lightly and shook his head

“I just want you to tell me what happened; this was really important to me and you worried me when you left.” he said, I sighed as I rested my head on his shoulder as he wrapped his arm around me

“I just felt… weird; like I didn’t belong there.” I whispered “And it scared me.” he looked at me confused “There were so many people there, talking about football and sports, and you got along so well with them; you joked around, had a laugh and were just… yourself.” I added “And then there’s me, I know absolutely nothing about football and just watching you so happy with those people freaked me out.” I said softly, I felt his grip tighten on me “And then there was this girl.” I spat “And she was all “Oh, I just love football, it’s like such a beautiful sport. And Chase Harper is so hot.” I said, trying to imitate that girl as best I could, I felt Chase’s chest rumble with laughter “It’s not funny!” I said as I hit his chest

“Oh yes it is.” he said smugly “You’re jealous.” he said with a smirk on his face, I felt like I wanted to slap it off his face. Smug bastard. I huffed and stood up from the bed, I walked towards the balcony and crossed my arms over my chest, I felt his arms snake around my waist as he kissed my neck softly

“Stop.” I said, trying not to crack a smile, but it was inevitable. I turned around and faced him, I looked him in the eye and he cracked a smile as he kissed my forehead “I’m sorry for ruining it for you.” I whispered and he shook his head

“You didn’t, I actually had fun.” he said with a sigh “It would’ve been more fun if you would’ve stayed, though.” he said softly and I looked down. He looked disappointed that I didn’t share this with him, and I felt slightly guilty. “But I get it, don’t worry about it.”

“I do, though.” I said as I wrapped my arms around his neck and rested my forehead against his “I wanted to share this with you because I get how important this is for you; my stupid insecurities just got in the way.” I muttered and he cupped my face and kissed my lips softly “I don’t want to miss out on things like this with you.”

“It’s okay, Ava.” he said reassuringly, I sighed deeply and I suddenly started to feel really emotional for some reason, I didn’t like him to see me like this “Hey…” he whispered as his face softened and he wiped a stray tear that had fallen from my eyes “don’t cry.” he whispered and I bit my lip as I looked up at him

“I just…” I sighed “this isn’t me, Chase. Going to football games is fine, but going to stuff like this, with important people and with people who get you and get what you like just isn’t me.” I said, my voice cracking slightly “And it just kills me because I want to be there for you and enjoy these things, but I don’t.” I mumbled and he looked at me sadly “I’m sorry.” I apologised, he sighed deeply before kissing me again and resting his head against mine
