My New Partner

I felt as if I had nothing good in my life after Jay died. When he died I called S.T.R.I.K.E (Secret Tactical Reinforcements for International Key Emergencies) headquarters. Which is the Government Agency I work for. I told the Commander what had happened and he sent someone to come get me.

I went back the Headquarter and sat in silence and didn't talk to anyone. The Commander refused to give me any missions. Afraid I would get killed if my head wasn't in the game. At that point I wanted to be dead. I couldn't function properly with our him by my side. I was not afraid to admit that I loved Jay August but like a brother, no romantic feelings what so ever.

It was a week later when we had his funeral. Even though there was no body we still mourned him and celebrated his life. While the minister was speaking gun shots rang out behind us. Everyone got on the ground except a few other agents and I. We had our guns up and ready. Who knew you could conceal a gun underneath a dress. When we turned around no one was there just an open cell phone. I walked over cautiously and picked it up. What I heard was...

"Special Agent K, well, well, well you are very lucky to be alive aren't you? You ruined my plan to get rid of both you and your partner. You have now seen where our secret hide out is, so now you need to be eliminated. If you you tell anyone what I have just told you... You will die here and now. By the way you look great in that black dress. Goodbye Agent K."

I dropped the phone and fell to my knees.

"Oliver X is out to kill me and he is watching me right now..." I said to myself quietly

The Commander asked who it was and I was silent.

"K we will track that call and find out who has emotionally hurt you."

"NO!" I yelled and crushed the phone with my foot and ran to my car and drove off.

I sat in my house for an hour that's when there was a knock at my door. I wasn't expecting company. Grabbed my pistol and pointed it at the door.

"Who's there?" I said sternly

"S.T.R.I.K.E Agent 723"

I opened to see a tall man standing in front of me. I let him and he sat down. I still had my pistol pointed at him.

"There's no need to have that thing pointed at me. The Commander assigned me to be your new partner. Also to watch over you."

" I don't need a babysitter. I'm a 28 year old government agent, I can watch myself."

"He's just taking precautions because you have been blacking out a lot since Agent 002 passed."

...

"Karina! Wake up Karina!"

"What happened?"

Apparently I had blacked out just at the agent name of Jay. I never called him 002, he was Jay to me. Randy stayed by my side everyday until I went to sleep he became a good friend. After a month it was late september and we finally got a mission. It wasn't anything big, we were to arrest a serial killer who was on the streets. I have to admit i was nervous. I'm a top S.T.R.I.K.E agent and fear has never been a problem and it's not starting now.
