How it all started

The last thing he said to me was

"I have trained my whole life for this. I think this is the reason why God put me on this Earth. To keep my country safe."

His name was Jay... Jay August. He was an Agent from Athens, Ohio. I was assigned to be his partner on September 10th, 2001, the day before the terrorists crashed planes into the World Trade Center. He was my best friend. A kind and strong-willed man who would never give up no matter how hard the task. July 22, 2012 was the worst day of my life.

It started that morning when we were given an assignment.

"Karina you are soo lazy. Get out of bed sleepyhead, The Commander has sent us and assignment." he said as he threw a pllow at me.

"Shut-up Jay, I'm getting up."

"Whatever K. I'll be in the car. Don't take your sweet old time like always haha."

I jumped out of bed and sliped on the pillow Jay threw at me and almost hit the bathroom door.(Pretty smooth for a Special Agent) I threw on some clothes Jay and I bought the other day to fit in here in California. I stuck my pistol in my right boot and my tazer in the left. We kept the rest of our weapons in a secret compartment in our SUV. As soon as i was ready I jumped into the car beside Jay and he said

"Wow, you're really slow for a government agent. haha"

"Hey! I'm not slow. I'm just not fast."

He just laughed and we drove off. We followed a GPS tracking device that we placed on the underside of a Ford Focus, that we believed to be owned by one of OX's henchmen. We followed it for 3 hours down the highway. When they pulled onto an unmarked road and a man and woman got out. They went into a little building and didnt come back out. We pulled up behind some trees near the building and waited for 2 hours.

Jay started to get suspicious, so he grabbed a rifle out of the backseat and got out of the car. I pulled out my pistol and followed. Jay told me to stop and of course I didn't. We stood behind the trees for a little while. That's when Jay motioned me to check out the building. So I walked towards the building with my gun at ready. I peered inside and it was a one room building and no one was inside. I started to call back to Jay nut then i heard a ticking coming from the car.

" Jay there is a bomb in the car!" I yelled

"Karina get out of here. I can take care of this! GO!"

"Jay I can't do that. You are my partner and best friend. I can not lose you!"

The ticking got louder and faster and Jay pushed me behind the trees to keep me safe. He ran towards the car.

I knelt down and covered my head right as the bomb went off and I screamed

" JAY!!! NOOO!!"

It was 30 minutes later when I opened my eyes to have my ears ringing. I got up and started to walk around. I saw the car and part of the building destroyed. I looked for Jay to see if he escaped the blast. I couldn't find him... I knew what that meant, I tripped and fell to my knees and I just sat there and cried.

Jay was gone Forever...
