Kai silently stood next to Zuko as the ship barreled through the cold waters of the Southern Water Tribe. She felt her hands shake as her eyes wandered around the familiar sights of her old home, she looked down at her hands and pulled them into fists to stop the shaking, which didn't go unnoticed by her friend.

"You know, you don't have to come if you don't want to, I know how hard it must be"

Kai lets an emotionless laugh escape her lips.

"You don't have to worry about me Prince Zuko, I'm the Scarlett Saber remember? The emotionless killer whose only purpose in life is to obey orders no matter how many people she hurts." she says, her voice dripping with anger.

Zuko visibly winces at her words. Even after all these years knowing her, he still forgets the physical and mental toll that she goes through every time she is called by her alias.

"Look I'm sorry alright?" he sighs. "It was wrong of me to do that, but you have to understand, this is the first time in three years that we've been close to capturing the Avatar. This could be the day, we can finally go home and I can-"

"Get your honor back, yeah I know" she sighs shaking her head.
"I know how much getting back to your family means to you, which is the only reason why I'm doing this." She turns to him, "But you have to promise me something Zuko, promise me that no matter what you won't hurt them."
