I'm shaking. I'm waiting for my name to be called. I see Martin Brodeur and a few Devils representatives walk up to the stage.
"With the first overall pick the New Jersey Devils select..." Brodeur says. I have my fingers crossed.
"Jack Hughes!" He continues. I stand up. Everyone is clapping. I hug my parents, relatives, brothers, and Sarah.
"Congrats, baby, welcome to the NHL." Sarah says and kisses me. "Thanks." I say. "Let's go baby!" I yell.
I walk to the stage and get my jersey and hat and have pictures taken on the stage.
Then Kaapo Kakko was after me with the second overall pick to the Rangers and then Kirby Dach was the third overall pick to Chicago. The three of us were called to the stage to get some pictures taken together.
I am officially in the NHL!
