Not every day in the TARDIS was adventures and near-death experiences. Sometimes the old girl had to recharge and rest. It wasn't the end of the world though, there was endless rooms for you to explore and run around in. You always found yourself in one room in particular though. The library.

In The Doctor's library, there were rows and rows of neatly lined up books with their spines facing outward, arranged in alphabetical order. The Doctor had so many books, from books in Gallifreyan about the Time War to the entire series of Harry Potter. It had comfortable leather arm chairs, sofas and a long table in the middle of the room for large maps and studying. There was also a beautiful fireplace kept well out of the way of the flammable pages that you had fallen asleep in front of more times than you can count.

Today, you had decided not to make a straight bee line to the library. Instead, you had a walk around the TARDIS looking for a new room to explore. You walked down the endless corridors, slowly getting more lost every time you took a turn.

"Hmm, so this corridor looks like the past five corridors I've been down. This is proving to be a problem" you said half to yourself and half to the TARDIS. The TARDIS hummed what sounded like a laugh as a light flickered to your left.

"Thank you" you blushed as you turned left and through a door at the end of the corridor. On the other side of that door was of course, the library.

You walked in slowly, tracing your fingertips over the worn spines, searching for a book you had not read before. Finally, you settled on an old favourite; Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.

"One day, you're going to get bored of that book you know" you hear a voice say behind you.

"Bold of you to assume that day will come spaceman"

The voice belonged to The Doctor. He was leant against the doorframe smirking at you. He wore a blue suit with his signature red converse that he refuses to replace. His chocolate brown hair was as dishevelled as it always was. Your perfect man in a perfect room.

You walked over to your seat in front of the flickering fire and curled up while The Doctor sat in the chair next to you, not really knowing what to say next. You had been reading for about 20 minutes with The Doctor shifting about, not being able to sit still for more than 5 minutes when you noticed out of the corner of your eye that he was staring at you. He had an adoring expression on his face like you amazed him just by sitting there.

"Are you going to sit there all day staring at me?" you said, still keeping your eyes on your book. You heard him cough and scratch the back of his head out of embarrassment.

"What is it?" you asked, raising an eyebrow at him, your book forgotten for a moment.

"Nothing" he chuckled nervously.

"Seriously, what?" you questioned again

"It's just.." he hesitated, as if afraid to share one of the reasons he loves you. "You look adorable when you're engrossed like that"

You began to laugh at his confession, tossing the small pillow that you were leaning on at him.

"Shut up" you groaned, a blush blossoming on your cheeks. You resumed reading but you couldn't concentrate on the words on page; your mind was going wild. The Doctor had just called you adorable.

"You really think that?" you mumbled, half wanting him to not hear you.

"Yeah, I do. Not that you're not adorable when you're not engrossed, I just see it more when you are- "

"Doctor?"

"Yeah?"

"You're rambling."

"Oh right, sorry" he mumbled, scratching the back of his head again.

You shut the book you had in your lap and stood up. The Doctor looked afraid about the things he had just confessed to you. Were you going to leave him? Did you not feel the same way about him as he felt about you? Was he destined to be alone? Again.

You crawled onto his lap and smiled. He looked flustered but you could tell by the look in his eyes, this was like Christmas morning to the 900 year old time lord.

"Adorable huh?" you smirked locking eyes with the man you'd spent endless nights thinking about and coming to accept that he'd never feel the same about you.

"Mmmhmm" he hummed, his eyes flicking down to your lips and then back to your eyes, as if to ask for permission. You leaned in and grazed you lips against his. That was all the permission he needed before resting his hand on your thigh and deepening the kiss. Your lips moved in sync as you tangled your fingers in his hair. You broke apart when you needed air and smiled.

"You have no idea how long I've waited to do that" he said rubbing circles on your thigh with his finger tips.

"Read to me?" you asked, handing him the book that started this whole thing. He took the book and opened it to the first page as you snuggled into his chest. He kissed your head before he started reading.

You did love your spaceman.

AN: Hello whovians! Admittedly, this isn't my first fanfiction that I've written. I have written a Supernatural one on a different account but I felt like I needed a fresh account as no one really knows that I like Doctor Who and some of my friends follow my other account. I hope you enjoyed the first imagine in this little book of mine. Requests are open since I do have all the time in the world to write stuck in quarantine.

Cheers x
