I Am Human,
No matter what you say.
I Am a Woman,
That lives in dismay every day.
I Am American,
And no one has the right to take that away.
I Am an Individual,
And to talk of reliance is a poor external way1.
I Am Extraordinary,
But no one knows even though they should.
I Am Disrespected,
And I would prevent it if I could.
I Am Intelligent,
But my brain hides behind my hood.
I Am Mistaken,
But to be great is to be misunderstood2.
I Am Deserving,
But no one hears my pleas.
I Am Bound,
When all I really want to be is free.
I Am Afraid,
When I should be singing with glee.
I Am Patronized,
But what I must do is all that concerns me3.
I Am Valuable,
But they all treat me like a minion.
I Am Better,
But no one sees my worth of a trillion.
I Am Capable,
But no one gives me the chance of my own dominion.
I Am Different,
Even though it is easy to live after the world’s opinion4.
I Am Human,
And your disdain towards me is just bluffing.
I Am a Woman,
And your judgment is not worthy of anything.
I Am American,
And your attitude is absolutely disgusting.
I Am an Individual,
And your conformity explains nothing5.
