Unexpected Love

Chapter 30

Elizabeth's POV
After Alec explained everything with Jace he became really distant and it was starting to worry me

He was obsessing over finding Jace and I could see the worry and panic in his eyes. "Alec maybe it's best if you take a break for a few minutes. You haven't ate anything today" I said placing a hand on his shoulder

"Elizabeth for one god damn minute stop thinking about food! We need to find Jace!" He said on the verge of yelling and I dropped my hand closing my eyes as I took in a deep breath

He's hurting. He didn't mean to yell. He's just hurting. I chanted this over and over again before I heard a sigh and a hand rest on my cheek as I opened my eyes

"I'm sorry El. I-I just- you know food sounds great" he said only managing a small smile. I frowned at him as I grabbed his hand directing him towards the kitchen to get food but stopped him before the door

"You know I'm here for you right? I knows you're stressed about Jace but we all are too Al. You're not in this alone and your pushing yourself too hard. Jace is strong he's going to be fine" I said and he shakes his head

"You don't know that El you don't know that. I-I can't even feel him through our rune. He's apart of me. If he dies a part of me dies too and I can't lose him El I won't" he says walking into the kitchen leaving me standing there with a pain in my chest

I had to help him and these stupid monitors in the institute weren't helping. Then I got the stupidest idea of the planet

"I know you know I have these strange abilities mom. I haven't really told anyone but c-can you help me I need to use them to see if I can track down Jace" I said and she sighed

"I just talked to Clary about this Elizabeth we can't find Jonathan he's dangerous" she says and I stepped back

"Are you actually kidding me? Dangerous? You don't even know him! He's saved all our lives especially Clary on countless occasions and you're going to tell me he's dangerous!" I exclaimed

"Just let me show you" she said activating a rune but I stepped back looking at her like a crazy person

"I don't care what you think you are going to show me I will find Jace and I will use my ability to find him whether you help me or not" I said shaking my head in disbelief at her

"He has demon blood Elizabeth!" She shouts and I shrug. "I have things to get to" I said coldly walking around to find Alec

Seeing him oh so shockingly at the monitors his eyes wild with a worried Izzy and Magnus next to him along with Lydia I walked to him

"Alec can I borrow your stele?" I ask and he raises a brow. "Why? Don't you have yours?" He asks not exactly taking his eyes off the monitor

"I Uh I lost it" I said and he looks at me with a look in his eyes showing he knows I'm lying. "Oh my gosh Alec stop being a hard head and let me borrow it I said reaching into his pocket and pulling it out before kissing him on the cheek and walking off

Going to the floor board where he had once kept the cup and Clary's portal shard necklace I opened it pulling out my ring and slipping it on my finger as I slipped back to the monitors to see Alec not there

"Where is he?" I asked looking around and Lydia sighed. "I had to order him to cool down he's becoming a little too much" she said and I frowned

"I'll go check on him" I said walking to his room where I suspected he'd be. When I entered I closed the door behind me hearing the shower in his bathroom running

Grabbing one of his arrows I sat down on his bed fiddling with it until I heard the water stop running

Alec stepped out a few seconds later shaking his wet hair out and a towel low on his hips. "Jeez Al you really know how to make a lady's heart stop" I said not taking my eyes off his toned chest

He looked startled before a deep blush crossed his cheeks and he quickly grabbed his clothes and changed in his closet

I laughed quietly before he walked out sitting next to me and pulling me on his lap. I shifted a bit straddling him as I faced him taking his face in my hands

"Al I told you to calm down a bit. You're pushing yourself too much and it's beginning to stress everyone else" I said softly

"El I can't lose him" he said his eyes turning glossy as he looked down.I moved his head up forcing him to look at me

"We'll find him I promise" I said kissing him softly. He sighed into the kiss holding me closer as my hands worked through his wet messy hair

His own hands trailed down to my hips as he grabbed them flipping us over so that I was lying on his bed with him hovering over me

He shyly kissed down my neck looking at me making sure it was alright before biting down on a specific spot making a small groan leave my lips

As his hands began to push my shirt up I placed my hands on his chest as a signal to stop . "Alec you don't want this right now" I said pecking his lips as I tugged my shirt down and he frowned

"Yes I do El. D-did Izzy tell you I was a vi-"

"No I didn't know that until you just told me and Alec I would love to be intimate with you like that but right now you don't want that out of love you want me as a distraction from Jace" I said and he sighed getting up completely and pulling me up

"I'm sorry love you're right I wasn't thinking" he said and I shook my head. "It's okay bubs. I'm going to go okay? I want to see if this thing works to see if we can save Jace" I said and he tilts his head in confusion

"What thing?" He said and I shrugged. "I don't really understand it. Ever since I got to the institute I've had these weird abilities you can say. It's like seeing and feeling what another person is doing. My eyes change for some reason which you've seen and it's only happened like two or three times. I took your stele to see if my ring can help me control it since I don't exactly understand how I do it in order to see if I can help you find Jace" I said all in one breath surprisingly

"You're really trying to do this for me?" He asked and I smiled nodding. "Then try here I want to help you learn how to do this thingy" he said and I nodded

"Let's see if we can find Jace" I smiled and he smiled lightly back. "Let's do that"
