My already quivering body started shaking even harder as he knelt down beside the bed, his eyes never leaving mine. I quickly scurried farther under the bed as he reached out a hand towards me trying to reach me. His eyes flashed with hurt and suddenly I had a strong almost overpowering sense of need to comfort him. My wolf whined in my head wanting her mate.
'Go to mate! He won't hurt us! Mate will protect us!' She told me trying to gain control.
'You don't know that!' I snapped at her.' He's an alpha. What if he's like alpha Drake?!' She whimpered slightly at the name. I felt horrible.  Snow was my only friend. She had kept me going when I was ready to give up. She had done her best to keep a small flicker of hope alive. She deserved a mate. But, what if he was like the rest? What if he hit and used her too? Her thought were cut short as she felt a hand grab her by the scruff of her neck and drag her out from under the bed. The sparks that flew across my skin told me that it was my mate. My wolf purred in satisfaction as he held us firmly against his rock hard chest. Me on the other hand. I struggled desperately against his hold even though I knew it would be useless. He was an alpha after all. He was at least ten times as strong as me. It also didn't help that my I was pathetically small in this form. I was an omega and a runt. My wolf was the size of a pup. In my weakened state however, even a pup could probably best me in a fight.  Exausted from my failed attempt at escape I fell limp in his hold and tried to listen to what the three wolves were talking about.
"Alpha, if I may... Can I take a look at her?" Asked the brown haired lady motioning to me. My mate stiffened slightly at this but he must've nodded because the next thing I know, I am being passed from the alpha to the doctor, my wolf whining at the loss of contact. She picked up a small syringe from her bag which she had placed beside me and carefully filled it from a bottle of dark colored liquid. My eyes widened in terror. I had seen things like this before, and they ment nothing good. They made you feel sleepy, but you never got back up. They were only used on us when someone had done something really bad. Adrenaline shot through me as the needle approached.  I shot off of the bed, and through the slightly cracked door. I blindly dodged right and left shooting through hallways and across rooms in my panic to escape. Finally I found a set of stairs and raced down them. They led me to the front door which was open. 'Just a few more seconds and we'll be free.' I told my wolf as the smell of fresh air his me. She didn't reply. However, luck was not on my side, for, just feet away from freedom, I was tackled to the ground. I felt a set of hands grab me and I was launched into the air. I braced myself for impact, but at the last second our positions were switched as the person who tackled me switched positions taking too brunt of the impact on himself. The sparks confirmed my suspicion as I was once again held firmly in the arms of my alpha mate. He stuck his head in the fur by my neck deeply inhaling my scent. I had already learned that it was useless to struggle against this grip. He, would not let me go. Tears of frustration and fear flowed from my eyes as my wolf started purring again. What would happen to me now? Would he inject me with that stuff, throw me into the dungeon, beat me, or something else? Slowly, he sat up, never loosening his grip from me. Clutching me close to him he asked, his voice slightly cracking at the end,
"Why do you keep running from me?" I was shocked. I had not expected this. His voice was so quiet, as if he thought I might shatter if he spoke too loudly. "Why are you scared of me? I'm your mate. Your not supposed to be scared of your mate!" He stood and carefully started walking back up the stairs to the room I had just been in.
