The Past and then the Future is an ability where the user can delete, add or read memories of anyone they can look into the eyes.
When they used it, they get dreams of the past of those people they used their ability on. They can only see the parts of their memories before the user used their ability.
When used on the user themselves, the user cannot restore their own memories but they can still read the memories of those who still have those memories.

For example:
The user had a friend but they delete all memories of this friend.
If the user reads the memories of this friend, they can still see those memories of themselves but they cannot restore those into their own mind.

Restoring memories by other people is possible.
Memories can lie, they aren't always accurate but when they had a huge impact on the person's life, the memories become more accurate.
Memories are never completely wrong unless the user did something with them.
