I don't know when I fell asleep, but I wish I never did. Have you ever felt like your heart was breaking to a thousand little pieces? Yeah, that's how I feel right now. I never thought that my loved one would flat line while I was sleeping next to him.
"No. Harry, please wake up." I cried into his shoulder. "I can't lose you."
"Doctor Payne, we're going to have to ask you to leave the room so we can try to save him." The surgeon said. I shook my head.
"I can't leave him. He needs me here." I sobbed.
"We can't save him if you don't get out of here." He said, sternly. I whimpered before nodding. I got up on shaky legs and walked out of the door. I walked down the hall to the waiting room, breaking down when I saw everyone waiting.
"Liam, what's wrong?" My mom said as she walked up to me. I cried into her shoulder, occasionally hiccuping.
"H-He flat lined." I stuttered.
"No." I heard Anne say. "H-He can't be g-gone."
I shook my head. "T-The doctor is trying to save him."
"My baby boy can't be gone. He just can't." Anne kept saying as she cried into Gemma's arms.
I walked over to the chair and sat down, burying my face in my hands. He needs to wake up. He just needs to. We sat there for a few minutes before I heard someone walk into the waiting room.
"Mr. Payne?" I heard someone say, making me look up. I stood up as soon as I saw it was the doctor.
"I-Is he okay?" I asked, frantically. The doctor looked down, making my heart drop.
"I'm sorry, but he's gone." He said, making me fall to my knees as I screamed for Harry to come back. I screamed for not asking Harry to marry me before it was too late.
"Daddy? Why yous crying?" Ashton asked, laying his head on my chest. "Where's mommy?"
"I'm so sorry, Ashton." I hiccuped, burying my face in his hair. "M-Mommy's not coming home."
