Rouge Eyes

Part 9 - Phonecall

Sohyul unlocked the door and looked inside, hoping Mel went home, but she didn't. Mel was there, sleeping on the couch. She sighed and locked the door. Sohyul got some blankets for Mel and then got ready for bed herself.

Sohyul looked up at the ceiling.

"What do I do....?" She then moved so she was laying on her side and took a photo from her nightstand. "D-dohyun... I really need a hug.." She cried a little before putting the photo down and picking up her phone. She tapped on Yohan's number and groaned. "What am I doing? Its 3am why would he be awake? Why would he even want me to text him?" But despite that, she wanted to hear his voice, as if it was comforting for her, so she texted.

Sohyul: Hey... it's Sohyul.

Sohyul waited for a reply and to her surprise it was a quick 3 seconds before she heard a notification.

Yohan: Hey, its 3am what's up?

Sohyul didn't notice the smile forming on her face when he replied. Was she falling for him or was it just the bond?

Sohyul: I couldn't sleep..

Yohan: So you texted me?

Sohyul felt as if she was annoying him, and got a little angry.

Sohyul: Wow! So I can't text you now.

Yohan: wHaT? When did I say that?

Sohyul clicked her tongue.

Yohan: And your heart is beating really fast right now. Breathe😂

Sohyul: No it's not!
Sohyul: If anything yours is beating just as much!

Knowing Yohan, he was probably laughing from teasing her and he was.

Yohan: So you finally acknowledge the soulmate bond.

Sohyul sighed and decided not to reply. When she didn't for a while of waiting, Yohan felt that something was wrong.

Yohan: Are you ok?

Sohyul cried and wiped them before texting back.

Sohyul: If your not busy, can I call you?

Yohan smiled. Was he falling too? Suddenly Sohyul's phone rang.

Incoming Call : Yohan

Accept Decline

She accepted the call, and walked out to her balcony with her blanket wrapped around her. She heard Yohan's husky voice.

Yohan: Why did you want to call?

Sohyul: Did I wake you up?

Yohan: You did, it's ok though.

Sohyul although he couldn't see her sighed. Yohan heard the sigh.

Yohan: Something wrong?

Sohyul gulped before continuing, words she would have never said spitting out of her mouth.

Sohyul: Would it be bad to say.... if I said I wanted to hear your voice?

Yohan blushed and tried to calm his heart beat so he wouldn't "kill" her with it because it was that fast.

Yohan: No, but you could've just said you missed me.

Sohyul made a face and realized she made a mistake. This bond was making her do unexplainable things, and she barely knew this guy.

Sohyul: Nevermind, I'm hanging up. I don't even know you.

Her finger hovered the end call button, when he suddenly yelled.

Yohan: Wait!

Sohyul sighed.

Sohyul: What?

Yohan: You won't be able to sleep if you don't say what's wrong.

Sohyul felt herself cry and he heard her sniffle.

Yohan: Hey don't cry!

Sohyul smiled.

Sohyul: Why do you always have to be so annoyingly happy?

Yohan: But it does cheer you up right?

Sohyul wiped her tears.

Sohyul: It does..

Yohan: Your not in bed are you?

Sohyul raised an eyebrow.

Sohyul: How do you know that?

Yohan: Just a feeling.

Sohyul nodded although his answer seemed sketchy.

Yohan: Lie down and we can talk until you fall asleep.

Sohyul stretched and walked into her room, and laid on the bed. She placed her phone on her nightstand and put it on speaker.

Sohyul: What now? I'm in bed...

Yohan cleared his throat.

Yohan: Turn on your camera.

Sohyul gasped.

Sohyul: No! I look horrible!

Yohan rolled his eyes.

Yohan: I look terrible too. Just turn it on!

Sohyul gave in and turned on the camera.

Sohyul: Fine.

She laid on her side and looked at Yohan on the camera. He was also in bed looking at her.

Yohan: Cute.

He said, seeing her so flustered as she hid her cheeks with her blanket as she was blushing. She cleared her throat.

Sohyul: How is this supposed to help me fall asleep?

Yohan shrugged.

Sohyul: Your bed is so big...

Sohyul saw from the screen, the huge gap beside him.

Yohan: You can come fill in the space if you want.

Sohyul rolled her eyes and they talked until they both fell asleep.

Mel walked into Sohyul's bedroom to wake her up and saw her phone on the table. She picked it up and saw the call that was on for almost 5 hours. It was 8am. She saw someone else sleeping on the screen and ended the call for Sohyul.

Mel: Sohyul? Wake up...

Sohyul opened one eye.

Sohyul: Mel I'm tired!!

Mel smiled at her cuteness in the morning.

Mel: What time did you go to sleep?

Sohyul got up and shrugged.

Mel: Go get ready for school, I'll drive you today and just for you I'll go ahead and go home...

Sohyul nodded, finally...

Mel: Just promise me you won't get hurt again...

Sohyul nodded.

Sohyul: Stop worrying about me. Your not my sister.

She said, walking out of the room now, making Mel sigh.

"But you are one to me..."
