I sat peacefully at the Smithsonian with Erik and Charles playing chess on the stairs near the huge statue of Abe Lincoln, looking out on the horizon. I busily sat making paper airplanes.

" Can't stop thinking about the others out there. All those minds that I touched. I could feel them. Their isolation, their hopes, their ambitions. I tell you, we're at the start of something incredible, Erik. We can help them" Charles ranted softly.

" Can we? Identification-- that's how it starts. And ends with being rounded up, experimented on, eliminated." Erik asked.

"Not this time. We have common enemies-- Shaw, the Russians. They need us." Charles replied as I angrily tossed a paper airplane at the back of his head.

Charles flinched at the touch of the paper airplane. Rubbing the back of his head, as he turned to look at me with Erik laughing his head off.

"Watch it Ублюдок, I am a Russian" I snarled, letting my thick Russian accent flow through my American one as my eyes flashed a deadly white, as if I burnt a hole in Charles' soul. Motherfucker.

"Except Svet" Charles corrected.

" For now." Erik finished as I used my abilities to teleport myself to where my fellow mutant trainees were.

Covert CIA Research Base. Svet's POV.

I flopped onto the couch next to Angel and Darwin as Raven began a conversation

"We should think of code names. We're government agents now. We should have secret code names. I want to be called Mystique" Raven said excitedly.

"Damn! I wanted to be called Mystique" Sean faked whined, earning a laugh for all of us.

"Well, tough. I called it." Raven declared, chuckling a bit, as she shifted into Sean as Darwin and Hank gasped as they saw Raven's shape shifting power.

"And I'm way more mysterious than you." Raven declared, in Sean's voice as I let a shit-eating grin appear on my face, as there was a round of applause as Raven shifted back into her regular blonde self.

"Darwin, what about you?" I asked.

"Well, uh, Darwin's already a nickname, and, you know, sort of fits. Adapt to survive and all. Check this out" Darwin replied, as he got up from the couch, and stuck his head in a nearby fish tank and gills appeared on the sides of his face, he turned to us and smiled and we applauded as he took his head out from the tank.

"What about you?" Darwin asked, pointing to Sean.

"I'm going to be... Banshee" Sean announced.

"Why do you want to be named after a wailing spirit?" Hank asked as Sean got up from his arm chair.

"You might wanna cover your ears" Sean advised as he made his way to the window, as the others covered their ears, I didn't because my mutation gives me enhanced hearing, and I can manipulate sound waves. So I was good.

Sean made a sharp whistling sound, that shattered the large glass window that separated us from the outside courtyard. Everyone applauded and gasped in amazement.

"Your turn" Sean said as Angel stood up.

"My, uh, stage name is Angel" Angel began as Sean wolf-whistled (without using his powers). "Kind of fits.", Angel slipped her jacket off as she turned around and her tattoos formed into her wings.

"You can fly?" Raven exclaimed.

" Uh-huh. And, um..." Angel continued, turning around to face the now shattered window, and gap in the wall, as she shot a small fireball from her mouth, which hit the statue outside and slightly scorched the crown of it's head.

" I'm turned on and disgusted" Darwin added.

"What's your name?" Angel asked Hank, who was too embarrassed to answer. I felt for him.

"How about Bigfoot?" Alex chimed in as everyone else laughed as flipped him off.

"Well, you know what they say about guys with big feet. And, uh, yours are kind of small." Raven sassed, as some laughed and others gasped in shock at Raven's sass.

Raven and Hank gave each other a look, a friendly one. My ship needed to sail! Oh my god...

"Alex, what is your gift? What can you do?" Darwin asked.

"Uh, it's not, um... Um, I just can't do it. I can't do it in here." Alex stammered, lost for words. He had a mutation like mine. Sort of destructive.

"Can you do it out there?" Darwin asked, gesturing to the courtyard.

Everyone started to egg Alex on, saying he should show his powers like everyone else before. Alex, Hank and I hadn't show ours yet. Hank just didn't want to show his because he was self conscious. Everyone began to chant 'Alex' over and over until he stood up, walking over the remains of the window and out into the courtyard.

"Get down when I tell you" Alex instructed.

We all peeked our heads over the side of the wall. "Get back", Alex said, as we put our heads back, slightly peeking again. "Get back" Alex demanded,as we looked again.

"Whatever.." Alex mumbled as scarlet coloured rings emerged from his body, firing in random directions, one splitting the statue in half and setting the standing half on fire.

We all started cheering and clapping. Alex looked proud of himself as he walked over to me.

"What about Miss Russia?" Alex asked as everyone remained quiet for my answer.

"Uh, well. I wanna be The White Violin" I smiled as Raven knew what I meant.

"Why 'The White Violin'?" Darwin asked.

"Because, when my powers come out to play, my eyes and skin go a pale white, and I am an avid violinist" I smiled, as everyone stood back in the room we were in.

My eyes flooded a white, with dark black pupils as my hair straightened, not a single strand out of place. My skin a paper white as the pure white sound energy convulsed into my body then I let out a yell and a scream as the white sound energy pulsed out of my outstretched palms, destroying the remains of the statue, as I fell back into Raven's arms, panting for air and energy as my body felt weak.

I heard the cheers and claps of my fellow mutants and I didn't go back into my usual ginger hair and green eyes. I felt confident with how I looked with these guys. I felt less tired, as I stood up, feeling the energy charge my body. Party time.
