Antea and her twin brother Akil are on the streets of new york as orphans. Scared alone and afraid. And always stealing simply to live.Antea says they should go to an orphanage. But Akil doesn't trust the adoption agency not to split up the twins who love each other very much. One day when they thought it would be a normal day for the Merit twins turned out to be a vey eventful day. Akil and Antea found out about their s past. They weren't your average everyday patriots. They were protectors. Protectors allow the mortals to live in peace. But since they are now learning of their responsibilities at age 13 some things may be too late. They may not understand about this yet, but they do understand that theirs and the lives of every mortal is in danger as long as they are still in this stage.
