James's POV

"Here." Riley says sweetly, handing me several blankets and a pillow.

"Thanks." I reply, taking the bundle. I set up a makeshift bed on the couch, and get comfortable. Riley sits in a chair across from me, reading a book.

"You can come over with me, you know." I tell her.

"I'm reading." She says.

"So?"

"So, if I come over with you, you'll probably distract me." She tells me.

"How will I distract you?" I questions.

"You'll probably try to kiss me and hug me and stuff when I'm trying to read!" She giggles.

"Yeah, your right." I chuckle. She looks down at her book than tosses it aside.

"Oh well." She says, climbing onto the couch with me.

"Much better." I whisper in her ear.

"I wonder what my dad would say if he seem us like this."

"Why don't you ask him?" A stern voice speaks. We both look up, Riley's father standing over us.

"Um, I was just about to go to bed." Riley says.

"I can see that." Her father replies.

"I mean go to bed in my own bed." Riley tells him.

"I hope so." He says sternly. "Now go on."

Riley sort of nods to her father, and turns back to me.

"Goodnight James." She says.

"Goodnight Riley." I reply. Than she runs out of the room. Her father turns to me.

"I'm sorry about that sir." I tell him.

"Just making sure my daughter doesn't get hurt." He says.

"I understand." I reply. He turns around and strides out of the room, turning off the lights on his way out.

•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••

I hear a rustling sound, and jolt up on the couch. Riley was standing in front of me.

"Sorry, I just came down to see if you were cold or anything." She tells me.

"Oh, no, I'm fine." I assure her.

"Okay, I'll just head back up to bed I guess." She says quietly, beginning to walk out.

"Or you can stay with me." I tell her, hope in my voice.

"My dad wouldn't like that." She tells me. I can tell she's serious about this rule.

"Are you sure?" I inquire. She nods.

"Yeah, I am." She says, crossing her arms.

"Can I at least get a kiss? You know, since you didn't give me one earlier." I point out.

"I suppose that won't hurt." She says quietly. She sits on the edge of the couch, leaning and giving me a sweet, meaningful kiss.

"There. Now I'm going up to bed." She says.

"Sleep tight Riles." I chuckle.

God, I just lov.....Like her, I mean.
