Chapter Two

I grab all my work and my bag then head toward the exit. "WAIT!" I heard someone cry from way behind but kept walking, assuming they're calling for some other person. Then, a hand roughly fell on my shoulder.

"Owwe!" I turned around and there stood Marcus.

He blushed and said "I don't have a ride..." He looked down, I guess he was embarrassed.

"What happened to your car?" I looked at him and he was twirling the string on his book bag and twisting his foot.

"See what had happened was..." I already knew he was about to tell a long story.

"Forget it, just come on." We walked silently on our way to my 2011 Lexus SC. This was weird because it was usually him driving the whole crew in his 2012 Benz.

Marcus Haynes

All I remember is going to a club and meeting this guy... he was so kind! And I must admit, he was pretty cute. He took me to this place where we ate out and got to know one another. When he got back in the car, he tricked me. It was so deceiving and putrid. He said he left something in the restaurant and asked me to get it. By the time I walked out the door with his sweater, I could hear the engine roaring and see my car flying away.

"MARCUS!" April was staring at me.

"Sorry, I was in a deep thought," I slammed the door behind me.

Sometimes Marcus is so weird. But I love him! Not like that... I love Jacob. YES, I love Jacob like that. Gosh, I'm crazy over that kid! But what he told me yesterday upset me. How could his mom do such a thing? I drive off and Marcus looks out my window then starts "A guy stole it. I think last weekend and I've been asking for rides all since then. I guess I'll get my new c-"

My phone starts ringing and I interrupt Marcus when I answer it.

"Hello?"

"April!"

"Who is this?" I was focused on the road and didn't take a look at the caller ID. before answering.

"Jacob, duuh! Meet me at The Spot please, we need to talk." I wonder what it is now..

"Cool-"

"AND bring Marcus."

*Beep*

I turned around and drove the opposite direction of Marcus's house, to The Spot. "Where are you going? You just missed my turn!!" Marcus shrieked, looking back in the direction his house is.

"The Spot... it's Jacob."

"Of course." He rolled his eyes and I just drive to The Spot. "Anything for him, huh?"

I park my car in the lot of an abandoned space, right across the street from the park. We all sit under the weeping willow. I sit between Jacob and Marcus and Alicia is seated across from me, smacking her gum and applying lipgloss, looking through her iphone camera as a mirror.

"So uh," He began.

"Wait, is this about what you told me the other day?" Alicia looked up from her camera and Marcus stared at Jacob.

"What?" They said in sync. Alicia looked down, started blushing, and so did Marcus. They're actually a cute couple!

"Well..." I was ready to tell them so we could get this over with.

"Long story short; my parents fought, they're signing divorce sheets, and also adoption sheets." He looked down, gazed at his hands, and showed that same expression as yesterday.

"Jacob I never knew! Why weren't we informed, that would've been useful to know." I give Alicia a death stare, telling her to go easy. "Right ...." She's always wanting to know every single little detail that transpires through our lives.

When it comes to us knowing about her, it's always "Mind your own business" or "Don't worry about it" Yeah, we're cool but she needs to learn how to divulge what's happening with her, too.

"Hey, Jacob man what did you bring us here for?" Marcus looked as worried as ever! I wonder if Marcus likes Jacob too... (Yea he's bi-sexual)

"Well, I need a home. I need a good family and please guys, please help me! I can't be taken by just anyone.." That's deep. Seems a little like Jacob was happy and sad at the same time to leave his family.

"HEY MOM, I'M HOOOME." I yell, running up the stairs.

"April, I've heard about Jacob and think it'll be good if we adopt him!" she exclaimed with the biggest smile ever.
