Volcano
A great tower of fire, stone, lava and ash,
Dark pillars of smoke, it's eruption with a crash
A place of great beauty, yet destruction at hand
History in the making, through many lava strands
North south east west, they are everywhere,
If you look upon and island, a volcano should be there
In the mountains, on the islands, underwater too,
Through the Rockies, Hawaiian Islands, and deep ocean blue
Honored in ancient times, as pillars of the gods,
Places of rituals, honors, and sacrificial pods.
So next time you see one, appreciate the sight.
For only during its eruption, will it bring you fright.
