Ok so recently, I met a wonderful person on wattpad. She's a great fan and gives me a ton of advice. So, this chapter is dedicated to MillyMagpie! Thanks for being an amazing fan!!! <3 Also, I hope this is nice and SUPER SUPER long because I'm just awful when it comes to time management. Ugh, I suck. This came up to about 11 pages on word, so hopefully, it's a long one! Another comment, watch out for the P.O.V. changes....it happens a lot.

Chapter 14

Lexi's P.O.V.

I couldn’t stop shaking. All I could do was remember the image of the blood, splattered across the ceiling, the poor little cat dangling just above our heads. But the message, that really got to me. The shaking ran throughout my body, like a violent earthquake had centered inside me. I could feel my throat closing up, oxygen refusing to enter. The black spots filled my vision. The only thing that kept me from completely blacking out, was that beautiful smell that enveloped me. That familiar scent that reminded me of when I felt safe, when I was back home in Tennessee. Jayden. I knew I was walking somewhere, but I just couldn’t where. I knew Jayden was with me, and that’s all that mattered. I stopped moving, and just stood there, which was the hallway of our apartment complex, holding him close to me, feeling his sweet, minty breath travel down my spine. I slowly gained control of the shaking, the black spots clearing, which were replaced by fresh tears. Would it ever end? Jayden pulled back, only to look into my eyes, those ocean-blue crystals staring back at me, calming me even more.

“Shh, it’s ok Lexi. Hear me now,” He said, his voice shaking slightly. “He will not hurt you. I promise you this, he will not harm you. I would die before I let that happen.” And I knew he was serious, nothing but truth in his eyes. He really would die for me.

“Jayden, don’t you dare say that!” I said, warning him. “Don’t you dare! If you promise me that, promise me this; You won’t get hurt either. Especially die. Goddamnit, Jayden!” I yelled, suddenly fueled by this new rush of anger. I wasn’t angry at Jayden, but more at myself and the situation I was in. Jayden just sighed and held me tight, resting his head on top of mine, tucking me into his body. I cried quietly, just letting him hold me and rub his hands up and down my arms.

“I promise.” He stated.

“You better finish that sentence, mister. The good lovin’ lord knows that you’ll twist that into something else.” I said, chuckling. I felt his chest vibrate as he laughed too, mostly out of relief that I’m not unconscious or having a panic attack.

“I promise to not get hurt or killed.” He said. I grabbed his face gently, and pulled it closer to mine. God, I could look at him for forever, he’s so perfect. From his soft, slightly messy hazel-brown hair, his perfectly arched eyebrows, his straight nose, strong cheekbones and sharp chin giving him an edgy/bad-boy look that made every girl melt into a puddle. His perfectly, soft pink lips and finally those eyes that always draw me in. He smiled, as if he knew I was studying him. He leaned in towards me, and I leaned towards him. His lips gently brushed mine, and I moaned quietly, loving the feeling of sparks shooting all over my body. He just about pressed his lips closer to mine and

“Ok guys, I called the cops and they said that they wer- oopse sorry!” Jack said as he casually walked in on us kissing. Jayden chuckled and I hid my blushing cheeks in Jayden’s chest.

“As you were saying,” Jayden said, smirking and wrapped his arms around me.

“Riight. Anyway, so I called the police. They said that they were on their way to ask you guys some questions.” Jack said, his hands awkwardly dangling out of his pockets. An hour later, the police showed up and questioned all of us. They took pictures of the ceiling and talked to us individually in the bedroom. As I sat down with the officers with Jayden right beside me, I was reminded of myself, all those years ago, sitting in that goddamn hospital bed, feeling broken and unable to do anything about it. But this time, I’m going to do something. I’m done with being that stupid, naive little helpless Lexi I was four years ago. Looking around the room, I saw Diana being comforted by Jack, her face pale. Lana was pacing across the floor, yelling at the cops to, as she says “Hurry the *bleep* up or I’m gonna go even more bat-sh*t crazy than I already am.”
