Audrey's POV

I'm carried through hallway after hallway, then down a ton of stairs, then into a small room with iron bars over the opening. Morgan's father unlocks the door, dropw me inside, them slams the bars shut, locking me inside.

Almost immediately after he leaves, someone unfamiliar starts to untie me. Once I'm completely free, I sit up and look at my cell mate. He's skinny and pale, with floppy black hair that goes just over his eyebrows. He has icy blue eyes and he smiles at me. He has jagged, shark-like teeth. I smile back.

          "Um, thanks," I say, standing.

He nods. "No problem. I'm Axel, and you are..." He says. "Audrey," I reply, gazing out the bars. I see an empty cell right across from us and I realize we're in a long corridor. I sigh and spread out my wings till they brush the wall, and I sit. I'm going to be here a while so I might as well be comfortable.

Axel sits against the wall across from me. "You doing okay?" he asks with a concerned look on his face. I shrug. "As okay as someone who was just kidnapped can get." I reply. We sit in silence for a while.

"You know, I've been here for quite a while. I can tell you a bit about the place," he offers. I nod. "Alright, thanks." I say, ready to listen.

He tells me about how a number will be branded on my wrist. I cringe at the thought of that. He then explains they don't bother the prisoners much, until it's time for medical experimentation. We're the lab rats. I shudder, trying not to think about it.

"You're gonna love Morgan," he says. I smile a little. "She always sneaks in chocolate milk for me and gives me books to read." Sounds like her.

We chat for a while longer until it feels like I can't stay awake much longer. We both eventually fall asleep, trying not to think about what the next day has in store.
