Chapter Four: Happy Memoir

James and I walked down to the lobby hand-in-hand. Our parents coming into view as soon as we stepped out of the elevator.
"There you two are" My mom said, giving us a sad smile.
"Sit down we have things to discuss" My father said.
James pulled out a chair and set it next to them and sat down with me on his lap.
"Now there is this place far from here where all these families go when they are basically in the same position as us, no home."
Mr. Dean explained.
"Okay so where is it?" James asked.
"It is at an International Space Station" My dad said slowly awaiting our reaction.
I looked at James to see his reaction, which was filled with excitement and that was honestly all I needed. I looked back at my father and smiled in agreement.
"Good then it's settled we'll go there, Eric and I looked at the info earlier, each family gets two bedrooms to accommodate everyone. So the kids have to share a room-"
"Or you know Lizzy and Annie can share a room, and James and I can share a room?" I hopefully suggested.
Mom shrugged her shoulders "I don't see why no-"
"Absolutely not! You are to young to share a room with your boyfriend" My father interjected.
"What? Why! We've been together 3 years! Plus I'm not a teenager anymore dad! I'm almost 21 years old!" I told him.
"Matt honey, she's right.. Annie and Lizzie get along perfectly fine, plus Haley and James have been together for quite sometime now" She turned in our direction and winked "Plus we'll be in space let them have fun" Mom tried to reason with him.
"Fine but conditions, only if it's alright with Eric and his wife, if you both sleep in separate beds, and are in the room at a set time." My dad reasoned.
"Fine" I said smiling at James, who smiled back at me. I pecked his lips then adjusted my body so that I could lean my head in the crook between his neck and shoulder.
"So we leave in a week I guess, Matt and I will get things together and we'll be set" Mr. Dean told everyone.
After that James and I got up to head back up to our room, but stopped when my mom called my name to stay behind. As I walked back to her I looked back to see James talking to his dad.
"Honey, so how are you and James? You two are good right?" She asked smiling.
I have her a big smile and nodded. "Yes mom, we are good, actually" I said looking back at him "We are more than good" as I said that we made eye contact and smiled at each other.
"That's good just wanted to make sure you were doing good" She gave me a hug then left to go back up to her room.
I walked slowly up to James and his father not wanting to interrupt their conversation, as I got closer they started to say their goodbyes and soon his father walked off most likely to go to his room.
James turned and looked at me with a smile. "Want to go somewhere?" He asked. I nodded my head and intertwined our fingers together and headed out side to his car.
"So where are we going?" I asked. we've been in the car for a good fifteen minutes already and I've become really hungry, haven not eaten since last night at the restaurant.
"Wait and see, how does Pizza and Hotwings sound?" He asked keeping an eye on the road.
"Yumm" I said smiling at him.
"So I take that as a good sign" he chuckled and grabbed my hand with his free hand.
"So what were you and your mom talking about?" James asked.
"About us, she asked if we were doing good" I said looking at him.
"And?"
"I told her we were doing good, actually better than good, perfect." I told him leaning over to give him a kiss on the cheek. He smiled to himself and brought my hand up to his mouth to kiss it. "I love you so much" he said as he set our hands back down.
"So what about you? What were you and your dad talking about?" I asked him.
"Oh the usual you know" he said nervously. I raised my eye brow.
"No I don't know, hints why I asked?" I countered back in a duh tone.
"Listen it was just stuff don't worry about it, you'll find out soon enough" He said pleading me to drop it. I sighed and turned the radio on.
Soon we pulled into the same Sports Bar we had our first date at. "What are we doing here? I thought we agreed that this place sucked?" I asked him with a scrunched up nose.
"I thought we would give it a second try?" He smiled and shrugged. We both got out of the car and met at the back of his truck. He pulled me to him and brushed back my hair so that it was tucked behind my ears on both sides "I love you so much" he said as he bent down to kiss me.
I wondered why he was being so loving lately, not that I minded because trust me I didn't.
Smiling up at him "I love you too you big goof, now tell me what this is all about?" I asked him.
"Come on let's go inside" he said as I walked side-by-side with him.
We sat down at a table for two and ordered the same thing as we did on our first date. We talked about everything and anything until our food arrived. As we ate I kept catching him looking at me, and smiled to myself. Both of us finished our food at the same time. And right when I thought he was about to call the waitress over to pay the bill he did something I never thought would happen.
"Haley Amber Taylor I have loved you ever since I first laid eyes on you that first day of Freshman year. I was so scared to even ask you out so I just started teasing you. Plus our families were such big rivals. Until Senior year when we went out and talked, and look at where we are now. Haley Amber Taylor I love you so very much. You are my best friend. The only person that can truely relate to me. I love you so freaking much that it hurts. Nothing you can do or say will ever get rid of me." That is when he got out of his chair and walked around the table until he was right beside me. I pulled my chair a little bit out and faced him. He then proceeded to pull out a small box out of his pocket and kneeled down on one knee extending the box out. "Haley Amber Taylor, will you do me the incredible honor of being my wife?" By this time I was in a emotional state. "I know we've been through so much, and with what has happened in the last two weeks but I love you, and I want to spend the rest of my life with you" He looked up at me looking so vulnerable and loving.
I was sobbing by this time, I nodded my head vigorously "Yes a thousand times yes" I said covering my mouth with my hand. He smiled and slipped the ring on my finger and stood up grabbing my hands, bringing me up with him. He kissed me with so much passion that I forgot that we were in a public place. I didn't care about anything else in the world.
"I love you so so much James Adam Dean" I mumbled against his lips.
An eruption of claps and whistling sounded around us, I pulled away from him and smiled at everyone around.
We payed and thanked everyone, then left to go back to the hotel. The whole way home I had a stupidly big smile on my face.
When we got back to the hotel surprisingly enough everyone was all down stairs in the dinning area. We walked up to them smiling at eachother when I pulled out my hand showing everyone my new jewelry. Both of our moms squealed and jumped up. I looked over at my dad to see his expression and surprising enough he looked happy. James and I were enveloped in a big group hug with our parents and younger siblings.
"Hawy so you'll be my big sister now?" Annie asked me looking up to me.
"You betcha" I told her squatting down to her level. "Can't get rid of me now munchkin" she smiled and hugged me tight.
I looked up to see my little sister, Lizzy. "I'm happy for you big sis" She said as she hugged me.
"Thanks Lizzy" I told her sincerely.
After a few hours of us all just sitting down stairs talking we decided to go to bed.
James and I said goodnight to everyone and headed up to our room.
I stripped out of my shirt and pants and turned to grab one of James's t-shirt which are too long for me but perfect shirts to sleep in. As I was pulling it over my head I felt him standing behind me.
"I love you fiancé" he said in my ear.
I smiled and looked behind me up at him "I love the sound of that fiancé"  I whispered bitting my lip. "I love you too fiancé" I said turning fully around to face him. I placed my hands on his chest which I just now noticed was bare.
"I love you so incredibly much, you have no idea" I said and got on my tip toes to kiss his lips.
After he stripped down to his boxers I crawled into bed and waited for him to join me, I looked over to see him conflicted on where to sleep.
"Come over here, I was stupid for letting you sleep on the other bed earlier." I told him patting the space next to me.
Once he laid down next to me I cuddled right up next to him and fell right to sleep comfortably.
