Watch as the new sun
lights up candles
on the mountainside,
burning a path
down the rolling hills,
making the trees smoulder,
setting the rivers ablaze.
See it as it dances,
flitting across the sky
in and eternal arc,
inhaling the stars
and in their wake
giving us
orange, gold and blue.
Look on as yesterday's child,
takes their first step
Out of the comforting night
and is made to learn
and to accept,
that light cannot hide
and for the first time
in their eyes there is truth.
