Chapter 25

(Courtney's POV)

My heart raced as I fought to get the seat belt off and to stay conscious. My head was swimming and throbbing and my vision was going in and out. I began to freak out and started to hyperventilate. It began to get increasingly difficult to stay conscious. My head lulled back against the seat as darkness began to pull me into its cold embrace.

As if from a distance, I heard footsteps and people talking angrily. I groaned or at least I tried to. I know that I wasn’t going to live through this one way or another. If I didn’t die in my car then surely those people would kill me. At that point, I stopped struggling and closed my eyes as I welcomed whatever end I was to meet.

(Azura's POV)

I smiled as Cameron and I walked away from the dance area and walked over to the table to get a few drinks. We walked over to an empty spot beneath a tree and sat there. I saw an empty blanket no one was using and went and snatched it up before anyone could say anything. I saw Shane's little "girlfriend" giving me the evil eye. I growled and bared my teeth at her and she looked away. "What is her freaking problem?" I muttered, just a bit peeved. That was the second time that chick did it and I was going to have a few words with her if it happened a third time.

Cameron leaned over and kissed my cheek and told me not to worry. "You're here with family and friends. Don’t let anyone ruin that." He said giving me another kiss. I couldn’t help but smile at him. He was right, I wasn’t about to let some chick ruin my fun. Drinking our waters, we looked out at everybody that was there and I couldn’t help but smile. "Wow." Cameron said as he leaned over and wrapped his arm around my waist and rested his chin on my shoulder. My skin tingled as electricity raced over it making my skin very sensitive to his touch.

"Your dad's pack must be pretty big." He whispered as he nuzzled my neck and nipped my ear. A small moan slipped passed my lips as my body began to heat up. I leaned into him and nodded my head. "Yeah, but we're all pretty close." I whispered in a husky voice as his tongue found one of my sweet spots. "I can't wait to introduce you to your new family. They will be really happy to meet you." He said softly against my skin as he leaned me back. I laid back at his gentle urging and looked up at him as he laid half way on top of me. I smiled up at him as our legs became entangled.

He smiled down at me before claiming my lips with his own. I encircled his neck with and opened up for him. My neck rested on his arm and he used arm to pull me closer. His other hand ran up and down my body. I arched my back wanting to get closer to him. The area around them became heated. I moaned as he took his lips from my own and proceeded to kiss down my neck nibbling as he went. He reached a few ticklish spots that had me giggling with a moan soon following. I pulled him closer to me.

In that moment nothing mattered except Cameron. We were lost in each other when suddenly there was an explosion. It jarred me so bad that i jumped up, head butted Cameron in the face. "Shit!" He growled. I didn’t pay him any attention as my heart raced and fear spread through me. Frantically, I looked around fearing that my vision was coming true.

It took a moment for me to realize that it was merely fireworks. "Damn Azura! What the hell was that about?" He asked holding his face, though the scent of blood was strong. I got up and got several napkins and brought them back to him. He "I'm so sorry Cameron." I apologized. "I didn’t mean to hurt you." I said reaching my hand out to him only to pull it back and held it against my chest.

"Azura, what happened?" He asked me ask me again. I hesitated not sure if I should tell him so I ended up shaking my head and holding my hands in my la. "It was nothing." I said.

Cameron narrowed his eyes at me and growled softly. He wiped the blood from his face as it began to slowly stop. He looked at me suspiciously before speaking. "That was no nothing. Why'd you freak out over fireworks?" He asked. I looked away from him before opening my mouth to speak. "And I want the truth." He said with a soft growl. I looked at him and rolled my eyes before speaking. "Ok, fine! But you have to promise not to laugh at me." I said twisting my fingers.

Cameron covered my hands with his and looked at me. "If it elicited a reaction like that and cause you to do something like this." He said pointing to his face. "Then it is not a laughing matter." He said seriously. I looked at him a moment before telling him about my vision.

　

(Cameron's POV)

　

My nose was throbbing as I listened to Azura. She still seemed a bit freaked out about this whole thing and I was concerned. When she began to cry I pulled her into my arms to calm her. "Come on baby girl,dont cry. Everybody is ok and safe. Nothing is going to happen. They are all out there having fun and enjoying themselves. There are two Alphas and there are enough people to form a decent sized pack. If anyone tried to come after you theywould have quite a few people to go through and I gauruntee you that it wouldnt be a walk in the park to get through them espescially me." I held her tight and kissed her temple.

"So long as there is breath in my body you are safe from harm. Love, you are well protected. " I told her with as much confidence,conviction, and truth that I could muster so that I could my point across to her. She pulled back slightly and looked at me with red puffy eyes tear stains running down her face. I gave her a lopsided grin. She looked adorable and made me want to keep her in my arms forever. Without a word I captured her lips with my own. My intent was to kiss away her sorrows and worries and convey to her what my words couldnt.

　

It started off as any other kiss that we had shared, though each one was always electrified and desire filled, but this kiss held another element to it that seemed to bind them even closer. We quickly became engrossed in one another, shutting out all else and focussing on one another. Soon an ear splitting scream rent the air.

　

Azura pushed me away so hard she actually hurt my chest. I fell backward as did she and but soon she was scrambling to her feet looking around frantically. As I sat up rubbing my chest, I opened my mouth to speak and she took off towards the others. I inwardly cursed and scrambled to my feet. The scent of fear that she trailed was going to cause problems, as well as the tear stains, red nose and puffy eyes. Her dad and I were already on thin ice as it were and it wouldnt bode well if he were to find her as she was.

　

I chased after her calling her name but she either ignored me or didnt hear me. I tried to speak with her through the link we shared and I came up against a rather strong and solid wall. I cursed under my breath again as I followed her. The sight that they presented wasnt good and I just knew I was going to catch Hell.
