The opposite of definite

Of a dream

"Who are you?"

"I'm someone you'll soon forget."

"How shall I forget something that was not there at the very start?"

She floats away, and unconsciously, my feet move towards her.

I'm someone you'll soon forget.

"Are you here to save me?"

"I am here to take you out of the life you never wanted to live."

"Forever?"

"For a moment."

Just like that, a scene appeared in front of me. It was a boy running around a beautifully-tended garden, paper airplane in hand.

"Mommy, mommy look at me!"

"Does my little airplane want a hug too?"

"Mommy, I love you."

"I love you too."

His mom laughs.

The scene changes again, quick as it did the first time.

"Mom, I have a football game today."

"You want me to drive you there?"

"Aw, you won't watch? Please do."

"You're thirteen already, aren't you too old to be watched over?"

"Ha-ha, mom, I'm never too old for anything."

The scene changes again, but this time it's dark.

"Honey, where are you?"

"I'm here, mom!"

The voice comes from behind a tall tree, a woman following the voice that leads her to him.

The boy is sixteen, with his tall stature and his deep voice.

"Where have you been?"

"I just wanted to see the birds up there. But it rained and I didn't remember where I came from."

"Aren't you too old to get lost like a little boy?" his mom chuckles.

"I'm never too old for anything," he answers with a smile.

Then it hits me.

"Do you want to come back to reality now, boy?" The lady asks.

I am the boy.

I was the boy.

I still am the boy.

And that will never change.

The scene changes, but this seen is real. It looks real.

It is my mother, sick in bed.

"Mom! I missed you," I said, hugging her.

"Aren't you too old to be hugging me like this?"

I laugh.

"I'm never too old for anything."

"Who are you?" I wonder.

"I am a dream. A dream you'll soon forget."
