Eleven, Twelve & Will [DISCONTINUED]

part eleven

"papa?" i scream.
"papa are you there?"
i'm cold
i'm alone.
i don't want to be here, i want to go home.
where is home?
where is el?
all of a sudden i hear heavy breathing behind me
"should i stay or should i go now"
i turn around, fast.
it's will.
~
"oh my god, will!" i scream running towards him. he's sitting in a dark room.
he's cold, i can tell
i look around to figure out where he is, but i stop short when i see it
"shit" i mutter, will looks up at me. no, not me, it, and then i lose sight of him, everything fades away like dust. i scream for him, running all through this dark place. i can't give up. i cannot give up on him. and then,
~
i wake up.
it was a dream.
a dream that had felt so real,
like i was reaching into reality.
i realize that i'm still in the blanket fort
with el, who seems to be asleep.
i lay back down and stare up towards the ceiling,
trying to collect my thoughts.
then i hear pounding on the stairs, footsteps, running.
running towards us.
el jumps awake and turns to me.
i grab her hand, trying to calm her down,
even though i was just as scared.
the blanket in front of us is lifted slowly to reveal
"mike,"
el sighs in relief
"hey um, good morning, uh i brought breakfast"
the boy says as he holds up four
"eggos" as he calls them,
el and i look at each other before grabbing two each, and devouring them.
"well um ok, so i have school today."
"school?" i ask
  "oh it's where kids go to learn"
  "oh" el says looking down at her legs"
"well, someday when we figure this all out you can go to school, too."
he says, smiling at el, playing with his fingers.
we smile up at him
