It felt like hours that I was sitting next to her bed, waiting for her to wake up. I looked down at her body again and felt a tear slip down my cheek. She was so gorgeous.
Her hair was a deep shade of black (which didn't make sense since her fur was white), and her eyes I didn't know yet. She hasn't opened them yet.
But what made me cry was her porcelain white skin. It was covered in scars, scratches and festering wounds.
She was hurt worse than anyone of us could think. Her left hand was covered in a sort of support. She did break it and that was why she was limping.
I didn't exactly understand how it didn't heal as fast as a werewolf usually heeled but it wasn't as if I could ask her.
Around her eyes and over her forehead was a series of looping scars that made a sort of pattern. The raised scars shimmered lightly. Down her arms were jagged lines. Almost as if someone ran their claws down them. Her fingers were long and had tiny X's running up and down them. Her left hand's ring finger had a circle around it. Her legs had the same swirling pattern but it was spaced wider and looked like it was professionally done. Her feet had a huge X on each of them. Across her torso was the same swirling pattern and other puckered scars every here and there. The one side of her ribcage had a long line running down it.
The doctor said that it looked like it was ripped open.
I shuddered as I thought about the pain that this angel must have suffered. She looked so tiny and helpless were she lay breathing softly in a rhythm.
The collar around her neck was some sort of control over her. Like she was a disobedient dog.
This made me see red. The spikes were worked into her soft tissue and when she disobeyed someone could send their anger to the machine or a button could be pressed and was shocked within an inch of her life. It was horrifying.
She's been out for a few days now. I peeked a look at the clock. She's been out for exactly 96 hours, 45 minutes and 33 seconds. I rarely left her side.
My father soon realised that I was mated to her and ordered everyone only to come here if they absolutely had to. I was grateful for that. I didn't like anyone touching or coming near her.
I almost froze completely when I heard a sound coming from the bed. I turned to look at her. She whimpered and tried to turn around. Her left arm turned and she yelped. Pain flared through me and I almost yelped as well.
I reached over and pushed her back down. Her eyes slowly opened and I was almost knocked over by the full force of them. They were so beautiful. Her eyes were the shade of dark blue on the outside fading into indigo then into a dark purple. They were magnificent and instantly captivated me.
My wolf roared in triumph. He walked foreword to greet my mate's wolf. She was just as beautiful as her human.
The girl in front of me looked slightly scared. I frowned. I didn't want her to frightened. She bolted up in her bed, causing her arm to snag and a pained scream to escaped her lips. I instantly leaped up to help her. I shushed her as tears started to roll down her cheeks and helped her manoeuvre her hand out of the support, without hurting it further. She cradled her hand to her chest and wept. I hated seeing her in pain. She looked so fragile.
I grabbed the glass of water and pain pills on the side table next to her bed, and handed them to her. She took the glass and the pills and swallowed them quickly. She turned her head to me and a faint semi-not-really-there smile pulled at the corners of her mouth. My heart felt like soaring. But then the smile dropped. I frowned.
® Thank you.
I looked at her confused. "Why are you using wolf speak? Why don't you just talk to me?" I asked.
We hardly ever spoke wolf in our pack. It seemed strange for her to feel the need to do so. She smiled as she did previously again.
® Sorry. I'm not used to talking to people. I usually just explain my purpose in wolf form and stay a few days then leave. I don't make any friends so I've never needed to use human talk.
I smiled and nodded at her. It made sense. She was a rouge after all. She didn't have a pack. Well not up until now. She was going to become part of this pack. If she wanted to or not. She was my mate and I was the future Alpha.
"What's your name?" I asked her. Then remembering her reluctance to speaking, I quickly added; "In human talk."
She sighed and the sound made me feel woozy. Damn! How can she have this affect over me? "My name is Leila. I don't have a last name." I thought I heard her mumble in her sweet angle's voice "At least not anymore" Under her breath but I ignored it. Her name was perfect. It fit her. It was as if she realised that she was not in her own place. She froze and glanced around her.
® Where am I?
I frowned. She was back to speaking wolf. I replied in human.
"You are at the Alpha's house; my dad. You were hurt and we took you here to heal you." I said, trying to indicate that she wasn't going to leave until she was 100% healed. But even then she won't be allowed to leave. She'll be mine. She looked back at me and lightly smiled.
®Will you please take me to the Alpha. I need to thank him.
I was about to protest but she was already swung out of the bed and heading for the door.
