Rumour

Rumour

Whispers spreading fast and wide,

Boxing you in on every side.

Different versions everywhere,

Try not to listen but you still hear.

Dirty looks and blatant stares,

You hate it so but no one cares.

Walk through the halls watching straight ahead,

Drowning in misery, eyes rimmed in red.

Easy to tell that they believe,

Both your friends and enemies.

Those false words, their creator unknown,

Break you down, your vulnerability shown.

Wondering how long this'll last,

Darkness on your life now cast.

Insides reeling, you're in pain,

Wishing for normality again.
