~Chapter 13~

~Rescue~

Seeing them hanging there was horrific. They all were strapped to tubes, connected to the beast's programming. They were hanging about 5 feet above the ground and their precious eyes were a royal blue, something that's uncommon. I just stood there, shocked.

"They must be your friends?" Axel asked.

"Yes," I said as I started walking towards them, "How do I get them out?"

"I really don't know but, if we disconnect those tubes, they might be set free." he said while rubbing his chin.  Axel started mumbling to himself about a plan.

"Do you think it'll work?" I said disrupting him from his thoughts.

"I believe so, only if we find the release button or something familiar with it."

The tubes connected to them were attached to a large circular tube filled with all sorts of flashing lights that spread to the top of the room.

IfIdisconnectthosetubes, they'llmostlikelybesetfree. Buthow?

I walked towards the cylinder and took a closer look at them and all of the extra stuff on the machine.

"These stupid tubes look practically indestructible." I said as I was tapping one. They were covered in a metallic type wrap, guarding whatever was inside.

"Here's a button that says release," Axel said pointing to one, "maybe this will release your friends and we can leave this wretched place."

"A Button?" I asked while tilting my head slightly.

"Yes." He said.

"But why is there a button? Doesn't it seem a little odd?" I looked at the button and then back at my friends. Axel pressed the button without an agreement. Sirens started sounding off and bright white smoke drifted into the air from the tubes that were connected to their heads. The tubes finally detached and they fell lifelessly to the cold, metal ground.

"Guys!" I ran to them, shaking them like a child do to his mother. "Wake up!"

Finally they risen their heads and stood up, leaving me on my knees. I stood up and took a few steps back, "Guys?"

Their eyes were bluer than a midnight ocean; it was like they were staring into your soul. They didn't say anything; they only wanted death...from me. Jeff ran towards me, preparing to execute a powerful right punch. I grabbed him just in time and flipped him over my shoulder, making a loud thump emit from the impact.

"What's wrong with you?!" My eyes widen in horror as Jeff tried to hit me again, this time he was successful. He hit me in my left shoulder, sending a shocking wave of pain throughout my body. I could've sworn he broken my collar bone. Jeff then jumped onto me and started throwing jabs. Left and right jabs, but, with all the training I was able to dodge them until he was successful on one hit. "Axel help!"

Axel rushed to the others and ran straight through them like a football player, knocking them down. He went to the program and started destroying it with his fist.

As I was struggling to kick Jeff off of me, Patty came over and she was about to crush my forehead with her dirty boots.  Sally then came preparing to execute me in my head with her pistol.

"No...No...Noo!!"

"Found it!" Axel yelled. We all looked towards his direction and he smashed something and they all dropped to the floor.

"Yes! You did it!' I pushed Jeff's body off of me and stood up. "Jeff! Sally! Guys!" I yelled in excitement. They slowly arose from the ground, regaining their conscious. The blue in their eyes and veins diminished bit by bit. It just faded into normal blood color.

"What happened?" Dean asked from the back of the group.

"You guys were controlled by the beast that started all this mess." I answered him.

"Wait...what beast?" Sally asked in curiosity.

As she said that, the monstrous beast splattered out the sky. It was the size of a modern two story house, arms the size of a bus.  Its head was enormous, the mechanisms on its body was death defying. Matching guns hooked up to each shoulder, claws the size of one human.  Rockets attached to each arm, blades to each hand. We stared in horror as the beast let out a devil's warfare cry.

I swallowed the lump that formed in my throat and sweat formed on my body. As I prepared to speak, the machine guns on the beast starts to turn rapidly.

"That beast, now run!!" We all got up on our feet and ran for our lives.
