Ice cream helps

After the dismal bell rung Mikasa said that she'll tell my mom and I thanked her.

I got my bookbag and headed back to Rin's classroom.

Stoping dead I saw Rin talking to Kai.

Kai...

They both looked at me and Rin smiled while Kai just stared at me with an emotional face.

Rin do something....make him stop staring at me..

Kai soon lost his gaze and walked away not saying a word.

"You ready Hiro?" He asked like nothing had happened.

I nodded slowly.

"Okay let me go get my stuff." He said heading in the classroom.

I stared down the hallway in the direction Kai went.

Was Kai talking about me to Rin?

What am I thinking?!!!!

He doesn't care about me.

Saying that makes my heart ache.

"Hiro you okay?"

I jumped and shivered a bit.

"Y-yeah... Sorry..."

I started following him to the parking lot.

We got to his car.

"So... What ice cream you like?" He asked me turning on the car.

I didn't say anything and just stared at his hands.

Please touch me........ I want your touch..... Please make this pain go away.....

"Hiro.... What's wrong?" He asked although concerned in his voice.

I looked at him with sad hurt eyes.

"What's wrong?"

I should ask him about Kai.

But what if he wasn't talking about me?

What if he was just saying how awful I am and how he doesn't like me at all?

What if I regret asking?

"If you don't tell me what can I do?"

He turned and started driving.

"Whatwaskaidoinginthehallwaywithyou?"

There I said it, in one breath. No taking it back now.

I stared at Rin waiting for the answer.

His eyes softened.

"Don't worry about it."

The rest of the drive there was quiet.

We pulled up and I got out leaving my book bag in the car.

"Say you never told me your favourite ice cream flavour." He said in a happier tone.

"Vanilla" I said.

He blushed and opened the door for me.

"Really?"

I nodded and went to the counter.

He started to order our ice creams an I stared at his happy face.

'Dont worry about it.' He said.

I need to know. It's driving me crazy!!!!

He looked at me and smiled.

"What?"

"Nothing." I said smiling slightly.

He grabbed my ice cream cone and handed it to me.

"Thank you." I said looking at it happily.

I just love sweets!! It's the only thing that can cheer me up.

We sat down at a booth and I lick my ice cream slowly.

I felt Rin's gaze on me but I didn't care.

I stared at his hands wanting his touch.

I toke a big lick and panted.

"S-so..... Mikasa is a good friend huh?"

I looked up at him and saw his cheeks was red.

"Yeah she is my first real friend and my best friend."

"Oh is that true?"

I nodded happily.

Ice cream does help. I just love how it feels on my tongue. The texture of smoothness and the thickness. Don't forget about the flavour.. Yummmmmy!!!
