I felt so smug about him holding my hand I just had a smirk on my face all the way to the door but just as he opened it he suddenly took his hand quickly out if mine as if it suddenly had gone all hot.

He muttered a quick "Bye" and was gone around a corner.

I stood there befuddled with my mouth hanging open.

Just who did he think he was trying to play with my feelings?

I felt kind of hurt in my pride, but now I was so gonna make sure I would win this freaking bet and break his little arrogant heart into pieces.

I sighed. I guess he just was like every other hot guy before - with some personality crack.

Later that day I had English which I just happened to share with Destiny, Joseph and - just how else could it be - Derek.

As the teacher started to talk I bent over to Destiny who sat next to me and was just going to tell her what happened between me and him earlier that day but decided the last second not to.

It was a bet after all and I surely didn't want to kiss a geek...

So I just randomly whispered instead: "Hey, I think the aliens will attack us today."

She looked at me like I was a turtle who started to step dance in front of her eyes.

"Okaay Ella, that was weird even for you!", she pointed out.

Oh well.

I stuck my tongue out and winked which made her crack a laugh which wasn't even remotely class appropriate.

We sat in the last row so practically the whole class and the teacher turned to us and looked at Destiny - even Derek.

His gaze wandered over to me so I waved at him and showed him my best sarcastic grin.

Not caring about all the people watching us at the moment I asked Joseph and Destiny casually:

"So, what about the movies? Meet there at five?"

"Miss Blye! Detention for interrupting my lesson in such an unbelievable way.", the teacher suddenly yelled at me.

That wasn't the first time I got detention.

"Sorry guys, I guess we'll do the movies another time.", I sighed.

"Mister Bronx", a deep voice erupted.

"You are an obnoxious bastard giving her detention over nothing. Seriously, screw yourself."

Derek had spoken and just had succeeded in saying all the things to get him a nice detention, too.

"Is that so?", Mister Bronx', the teacher's, face turned beet red. "Then you'll surely be delighted to join her in detention this afternoon."

A detention, just as predicted.

It was just this predictable as if he had acted this rude on purpose.

But that would be utterly dumb. So what did he think he was accomplishing that way?
