The Bet

I have decided to make "The bet" a story that anyone could write for. If your interested make sure you read the book so you would know the names used and what has already happened. I jumped out of bed this morning as soon as I remembered Destiny's words yesterday. I spent AGES trying to choose an outfit. I wanted one that would flatter me well but wouldn't get me into much trouble. I settled on my skinny jeans and a kinda baggy top but wasn't too baggy. I finished off my outfit with a denim jacket.

Derek will be mine! I rushed my breakfast of pop-tarts and scrubbed my teeth. I took my phone off charge and dropped it in my bag. I am no longer the old Ella who would dawdle to school!

I arrived at school a whole 45 minutes early! Derek was here though which made it all worth it. I started to walk towards him. As soon as I did Crystal and Lindsey came whizzing round the corner. Great!

They stopped just behind Derek and tidied up their hair. They were about to tap him on the shoulder when Destiny's car came speeding across the road. She came to a sudden halt a opened her door. Everyone gasped as she exited the car. She wore a tight black dress that came just above the knees and a pair of glossy black heel that could've easily been 6 inches!

Well, at least she wouldn't spend as much time with Derek because the teachers would constantly tell her off!!!

Derek didn't say anything to me for the first 2 hours of school. He didn't say anything to any of us come to think about it. That changed though. I sat down on a bench with Alfie. I went to Elementary with him.

We aren't that close anymore but we still talk and hang out now and then. He pulled a chocolate bar from his rucksack.

 "Want some?" He offered me a piece.

"Yeah sure." He gave me half of it.

"So the new guy-"

"What?!? What do you know about him??? Anything new?!?!? Does he like me?!?!?!" I practically pounced on him.

"Nothing! I just thought you would like to talk about him!"

"Oh." I calmed down a little bit.

"Speak of the devil..." I spun round to see Derek walking up to me, rocking a pair of ripped jeans and a t-shirt that hugged him nicely. My mouth fell open. I gained control of my mouth and turned it into a smile.

"Hey..."

"Ella. My names Ella."

"Hey Ella. Would you like to hang out with me... if it's OK with your friend." He gestured to Alfie.

"Yeah Yeah sure, its fine." Derek and I walked away. I felt kinda bad for Alfie though. He didn't know many people and often got laughed at for his ginger hair and face full of freckles. Me, Destiny and Joseph are his only friends. Crystal and Lindsey don't know him very well.

"So, what did you want to do?" i asked.

"i don't know. Whatever." He replied. He was loosing my interest fast.

"I thought we might-" His comment was interrupted by a clap of thunder. Rain started to bucket down. We laughed and ran round the closest corner to shelter under a willow tree until next lesson. We were soaked by the time we reached it and still giggling like idiots. We stopped laughing and stared into each others eyes.

He leaned closer to me. I stretched up on my tip toes to meet him. Our lips touched delicately at first but then he held me round the waist and intensified the kiss. He snaked his tongue into my mouth. Yep, I definitely had the best shot at winning the bet!

The bell went and we sighed as we broke the kiss. We made our way to English holding hands. You know, I think I've already won, but he has to asked me out properly
