English Quintain: Thoughts Fade

Shall I tell you about my day

About my tasks large and small

Who called, what did they say

How I vacuumed down the hall

Or how I thought of you, most of all?

Each day is much the same

As our lives go slipping by

For the time we lose ourselves we blame

Those losses we can never rectify

But to think of you saves the hours nigh.

Then day ends, as it always will

We talk and share our meal.

Sunlight fades, the air goes still

And becomes silence near ideal.

Thoughts fade too, as your nearness I can feel.
