he kissed her lips
when she had fallen asleep
outside, a glass between her fingertips
waiting for fireworks
which never sparked
other than in her soul
her lips were marked
she smiled through dreams
for her New Year's wish
had come true
except she thought
that this kiss
had happened in a dream
