Little one

8 2 0

Greens eyes
Like fields that grow wild
Hands that move along every surface you shouldn't touch
And a smile that could set the world on fire.

Sunshine where it burns blackness
Hope when everything is bleak
I hold onto you for faith
Like you grip at my shirt for security

Little feet
Tiny bellies
Like the world before you
Was so so small to me

Spinning circles around myself
For fear of letting you down

I'd burn out over and over
a thousand times
If it meant keeping you alight.
