- Emalynne's POV -

- SCHOOL, Thursday, 3:00 PM -

I hear the loud bell ringing in the distance.

Finally, it's time to go now.

As everyone picks up their bag, I did as well.

I got outside to see Nancy, smiling.

"Hey, have you heard a rumor recently about the garden?" She asks, keeping her smile stable, quirking her brow.

"Yeah." I chuckle, struggling to hold in my joy.

We talk for a while about something about school before it was time for us to leave.

We say our goodbyes.

Joyful, I walk my way out of school and towards home.

Today was just as normal as always.

Brittney didn't think of bullying us anymore because she hates detention after all.

Nancy and I have progressed through days.

We got to know each other better.

It was great so far in school.

But in the middle of the streets, Kurano's in my mind.

Not actually him, but my thoughts.

The lonesome prince of the garden.

When I saw how he became like that, I was devastated.

Now I knew why he was like that when I first met him.

I found him peculiar as well.

He was a different person after all.

Behind that cold, calm attitude, he has a soft heart, and a sensitive personality.

He was a loving person, after what I saw in his memories.

Something entered in my mind again.

'H-Here. You can have it.'

'But, isn't this yours?'

'I appreciate you being my friend. I was a lonely prince after all.'

The moment when he gave me that music box.

Now I realize something...

He kept that music box because it was dear to him.

He showed it to me because he trusts me.

He hesitantly hands it over to me because it was like treasure to him.

And he got quieter, because it was for me.

Those thoughts flooded my mind as I continue to walk home.

Why am I feeling this?

- APARTMENT, 3:20 PM -

When I finally arrived at home, I unlock the door and enter.

I can hear a familiar voice coming from upstairs.

Confused, I go upstairs, hearing the distant talking getting louder.

It's coming from my father's bedroom.

I inch closer to the door, looking to see it slightly creaked open.

Hesitantly, I knock and gently push the door the see.

Right in front of my eyes, I was filled with joy.

"Emalynne! How are you, dear?" She says, with joy overflowing her emotions.

I run to her and hugged her tightly.

Finally...

I haven't seen my mother in a long time.

We eventually pull away, smiling wider than I usually do.

The distant chuckling of my father makes me happier.

We feel like a complete family again.

"I'm good, mother." I softly reply back, feeling the joy.

My mother stands up and walks to me.

"Come on, I'll give you some things from my workplace." She grabs my hand gently and leads me to a living room, with a big box lying.

I never even knew there was that box lying there.

She excitedly opens the box, revealing it to be full of items.

There's snacks, clothes, souvenirs, and a lot more to describe.

I was surprised on how she was committed to giving us this much things.

This is why I love her so much, even if she is away for years.

She visits our place yearly, and she would go back to her workplace after a week or two.

With excitement, I take a look at some of things she brought.

I rustle through the box to see plenty of things she's bought.

But something caught my eye.

I pick the object out of my hand.

It's a golden locket, shining from the light outside.

The gorgeous design made me feel happy.

"Oh, you can give that to anyone or keep it for yourself, Emalynne." She covers, bringing out more of the things to show me.

I place the locket to side while me and mother go on to look for more things.

When I found that locket, I feel the urge to give it to someone.

It then came to mind.

As an appreciation, I'll give it to Kurano.

He's been there for me, ever since I met him.

My heart pounds when I see him.

I feel nervous when I'm with him.

I think I like him, a lot.
