                                                            Chapter Three

“So where are you actually going?” Amy asked, lying on my bed while I looked through my closet.

“I have no idea, he didn’t say.” I looked back over my shoulder at her, shooting her a hopeless look. Amy and I had been trying to choose something for me to wear for the last hour; I was getting more and more stressed with each passing minute.

“Well, first date to a wedding, second date maybe the opera?” she offered, laughing.

“You’re no help at all! Amy, seriously, if you’re going to be sitting there making stupid comments then what was the point of you coming over to help me?” I whined, throwing a pair of socks at her.

She caught them and threw them back at me. “Stop stressing, it’s just a guy,” she replied, rolling her eyes.

I sighed and closed my eyes. She’s right. I’m getting myself worked up other nothing. Sure, he seems nice, and damn he’s hot, but I actually know nothing about him at all. I took a deep breath and slumped onto the bed on my back. “You’re right, I’m just going to wear the black pants and red shirt,” I decided, fed up with thinking about it. I’d had hardly any sleep last night because I was so excited about the date, and every second of today had dragged because of it. I still had an hour and a half to wait until he’d be picking me up.

Amy nodded. “Good idea. Wear the shirt open at the bottom so he’ll catch a glimpse of the navel piercing,” she instructed, winking at me. “You know a guy can’t resist that.”

I nodded and headed into the shower. When I was out, Amy helped me do my hair, straightening it all. Once I was dressed, I looked at her and did a little twirl, waiting for her approval. “What do you think?” I asked, biting my lip.

“I’d do you,” she replied, narrowing her eyes at me playfully. “Wait, another button at the bottom.” She leant forward, unfastening another button so I literally only had two buttons done up now, just about covering my breasts.

I scoffed and batted her hands away. “Amy, seriously, I don’t want to give him the wrong impression. He’s probably already thinking I’m going to be putting out tonight, I don’t want to shove it in his face,” I protested, doing it back up.

She sighed. “Fine, but I don’t know why you’re so dead set against sleeping with him though. You need to get laid. It’ll loosen you up and put a smile on your face.” The doorbell rang before I could answer. I looked at her nervously, my heart leaping in my chest. She grinned and shoved my purse and black jacket into my hands. “Go. Have fun, and don’t do anything I wouldn’t do,” she encouraged, winking at me.

“Is there anything you wouldn’t do?” I joked.

“No,” she replied, laughing and heading over to my window. “I’m going to watch from the window. He can’t be as hot as you say he is.” She shook her head and pulled the drapes aside, peering out, trying to sneak a peek at Will. I smiled, knowing she wouldn’t be able to see him at the moment; he’d be under the porch, waiting at the front door.

“All right. Lock the door on your way out okay?” I called as I skipped down the stairs to the front door. My parents were out again tonight which I was secretly glad about. I’d met his parents already, but I definitely wasn’t ready for the whole introducing him to my dad thing. My dad was embarrassingly protective when it came to guys, and he also wasn’t shy with making threats of castration for taking advantage or hurting me. That usually happened while I was standing there too, which was indubitably horrifying for all parties involved.
