floating solemn on the solar lift
folding here and tucking there to spin
fade recoiling or advancing grow
catching heavy light within our wings

we see out here dark among the stars
gassy glowing bits of thirsty stone
ice made steam or molten shades cooled black
reflecting flinched awareness flash and fire
watching somber brilliance through our eyes

we hear out here peace among the stars
collisions vast harmonics in our midst
scattered melodies of passing song
voices sent and gathered in the waste
hatching quiet gales among our minds

we taste out here spice among the stars
salt and acid echoes fathoms wide
fading juices grit and hollow wine
eons testing sips of flaring life
klatching sweetly bitter on our tongues

we touch out here numb among the stars
stillbreathed passing moments of unrest
snaps and shallow flutters twist and flow
rebirth fashioned splendid from the dust
patching newborn elders with our hands
