Okay, so I went to my university's creative writing society lit circle yesterday, which was on the theme of word length. We were challenged to write a 100 word poem (we had about ten minutes) on the topic of freshers week, which is the first week of university for students in the UK.

So out came questions, which isn't very good.

QUESTIONS

What's your name?

What are you studying?

Where are you from?

So many questions.

London, English, Amy,

John, Psychology, Devon.

So many answers.

Different faces, do I know you?

What was your name again?

It's all too confusing.

Everybody gets lost in the sea of people,

A blur of eyes, nose and mouth,

Tall, short, quiet and loud,

I'm standing here figuring it out.

So many people.

The beginning of the year is always fun,

Smiles and laughter from all,

Everyone on their best behaviour.

But as the year progresses,

The pretending stops,

So many different personalities,

They will change.

As you can see it's a bit more like free verse that some of the things I've written before.
